Stephen Flood has not returned as scheduled from a business trip to IN. His family and neighbors are very worried. There was also a break-in in the middle of the night at his home earlier this week while he was away. If you have any information about either of these, please call the Bolingbrook PD or Crime Stoppers

Any word yet on Steve? This is horrible news. Were they home at the time of the break in? My thoughts are with his family.

No word yet. Last we've heard is that they believe that his cell phone is somewhere in KY. Steve was away on business at the time of the break-in but his wife and children were at home. The break-in happened around 11:30 at night.

Break-in confrontation
BOLINGBROOK -- A housebreaker accosted a woman in her Tecumseh Drive home late Wednesday.
The attacker struck shortly before midnight and "confronted the occupant," police said.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call the police.

"confronted the occupant" = woken from sleep by being bashed in the head with a rock?

Where did you hear that the cell phone was in Kentucky? Why isn't this story all over the news?

I heard the cell phone in KY part too, but he was on business in southern Indiana. It's very weird that he was last seen on the same day his wife was attacked. That connection should be enough to have this all over the news...but it's not.

I agree with you, this should be all over every news outlet, there has to be more to this story that is not being let out. I pray Steve is safe and comes home soon.

I have heard about the cell phone from a friend that spoke directly to his wife. I know that she did not want it on the news because her children do not know that their dad is missing (at least this was the case as of Friday night but I don't know if they've been told since).

I also heard from this friend that she was meeting with detectives sometime yesterday to identify some things that were found in his hotel room. I don't know what the outcome of the meeting was.

I know that she's trying to put up a very strong front and keep things "normal". The kids were playing outside most of the weekend like they normally do.

We're continuing to pray for his safe return.

Well the kids aren't going to be fooled for very long. Kids have ways of knowing when things aren't right. Starting summer vacation and Dad isn't around is really going to have them zeroing in plus things like Coach Steve not being around for baseball practices and if this drags out, missing ball games.

I was told that the cell phone was tracked out of KY also.

The kids know now. My son was playing wiffle ball over there yesterday, and "B" talked to him about it a little. I hadn't heard about the stuff from the hotel.

I prayed for the family last night and they will stay in our prayers.

Crossing my fingers just hoping this is a guy needing some time away or something, gets what he feels he needs and gets back home.

Am I the ONLY one who finds ALLL of this suspicious? His wife is attacked in Bolingbrook...he is out of town and disappears?
I heard his things were found in a hotel room in INDIANA.
I want to know why this isn't all over the news?
A women was attacked in her own home, children have had their lives turned upside down, and the husband/father is conveniently missing?
I don't buy that he is an innocent victim whether he is a church goer, coach, or man of the year!!!

There are several unanswered questions concerning this incident. Bottom line, where is Steve? I cant believe this is not a bigger story in the community. This is a husband and a father of four, two vehicles are missing, and an assault on the wife. There has to be more to this that is not being let out. Steve is a great person, I hope this gets solved soon. The sense of urgency just is not there.

I agree with "a neighbor". This should be all over the news. Its like its almost like something is hidden? i cannot find anything in the paper about their house being broken into, or anything. So its hard to have sympathy. Has Nancy GRACE heard about this? I mean this is serious. Its like someone is hiding something? I feel sorry for the children. Mostly!

I CANNOT BELIEVE this is all that was written about a women who's head was bashed in. It sounds WAY to casual! CONFRONTED THE OCCUPANT? OMG it was way more then that!

If you do not know Steve, please do not judge. Do you even realize how hurtful your words are to those who love him?
I am his cousin and this is surreal devasting news to all of us.
Please have just a bit of heart instead of trying to stir up some drama.
