First off the title to this article confuses me; “S.W.A.T. false alarm”; just because Blansett and his two little buddies have a “Tonka” truck does not mean they have a S.W.A.T. team; don’t believe me, call and ask. From my understanding, no one in that Department trusts those three fools to be in a S.W.A.T. team there. If you still are unsure, then ask this question; “when did the OCSD and MTD join forces to be a S.W.A.T. team?”

A bigger question is when is the good old (and blind) Sheriff going to let the public that he is entrusted (for another 17 ½ months) to protect know that one of his Deputies was busted for a DWI in Las Cruces last week? Guess he does not have the same principles as DPS, remember, they did not cover up one of their own being busted for drugs!

Believe me it did happen. If the name is printed, the ADN monitors will remove it, but his initials are A.H., and I just found out he works in the narcotics unit of the Sheriff’s Department.

You'll never hear the name. The biggest problem is, the arrest was made by DASO. Same department our S.O. is so tight with. It will be sweep under the sheets.

Makes me wonder if the fake 911 call never happened.....Might have just been a reason to play with their new toy.

I don't think they would do something like that just to take out their new tank.

I wonder if this had something to do with that "drive by" that was mentioned yesterday.

I believe that was published in the police logs and it was a different address.

DPS has principles??? I think not... The SO might cover up the DWI just like DPS covers up the many domestic violence happenings with it's employees... Only those don't even show up in the paper...

DUDE,You guys have know idea what your talking about. The incident occurred just like they said and there is no cover up taking place. BELIEVE ME, I KNOW! Some people have nothing better to do with their time accept talk badly about others. In case you forgot, those little Deputies you're talking about are trained and quilified to do the job and I might add, they are here to protectUS all in Otero County. I know the bald one in the picture and he was prior Military with tons of training in tactical situations so he knows what he doing. The other LITTLE Deputy you spoke of has been shot and knows what it means to be tactical to prevent that from happening again. As far as the Sheriff is concerned, he is not blind but he does have trouble seeing far distances. THAT WOULD BE CALLED BEING FARSIGHTED, as many of us our in the world. Instead of complaining about our PROTECTORS, why don't YOU GUYS try and thank them for there serve to our Community. Without them anyone could do whatever they wanted and it would be crazy out there. GROW UP AND STOP BEING A CRITIC ALL THE TIME!!

And you know this how? I know of two that were charged with DV. It wasn't in the paper, true, but I was told this was to protect the victim/family because everyone would know who they were once they read the offender's name because of the offender's public position. I'm not sure I buy that completely but it does make some sense. I found the info on nmcourts.com . I found a deputy that way, too. None of these was real recent but one was within the last year. I'd like to protect victims, too, so you guys just check public record---available to everyone--like I've learned to do from other people on this site. Even the civil stuff can be very interesting.
I love it when people get on here and say this or that happened. I must be from Missouri--show me the proof. Otherwise, you're just talking out your nether orifice and displaying your ignorance.
Also, this was pointed out by another poster on another thread, a lot of times the victim of DV refuses to cooperate despite the best efforts of law enforcement, victim's advocates, medical personnel, etc. If a victim flat refuses to cooperate (pictures, testimony, etc), you can't prosecute......

Nope, that would be called nearsighted. see, Nearsighted you can see near, but not far off, farsighted, you have a problem seeing something close to you. if you are really nearsighted, then you can only see something right up in your face...ya know, like your comment.
