The possibility of ATF charges being brought against Markwayne Mullin, leaving Second District Republicans without a candidate for U.S. Congress on the ballot in November is the least of my concerns.
Mr. Mullin deserves utmost respect for his business success, and has an engaging personality, but is seriously lacking in what it takes to be a U.S. Congressman.
He began his campaign with $100K of his own money, and has added at least 3 more loans from himself to that. He intended from the beginning to buy this nomination through advertising and name recognition but has driven his campaign more than a quarter million dollars in debt by borrowing to spend.
Mr. Mullin has declined to participate in 70% of the forums hosted around the district during the primary campaign and the few he did participate in, his answers were weak on most issues.
He responded to only one of four on line forum questions by Little Dixie Update blogger dharrison
He rejected Representative Faught’s challenge to three debates between the primary and the runoff elections.
Most recently he refused an invitation to participate in a forum with Representative Faught at the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee weekly meeting.
He does not like answering questions. In an issues debate with an experienced trial prosecutor Markwayne Mullin will be checking his watch, looking for the nearest exit door, and Republicans will lose in the three way race in November.
Mr. Rob Wallace may be a fine man. I never met him and had no dealing with the LeFlore County District Attorney’s office when he was there. I don’t even know what he looks like. I do know, if he wins the race for U.S. Congress, he will be expected to toe the Socialist Democrat Party line in Washington, D.C. and likely will.
Conservatives in Eastern Oklahoma will be best served by an experienced legislator who is knowledgeable on ALL the issues to stand up for and debate conservative causes on the floor of Congress. George Faught fills that bill.
I support George Faught because he agrees with me on issues, he has a track record to go with his campaign message, and he has been endorsed by many conservative organizations and individuals that I support.
Besides all of that, a debate between an experienced conservative legislator and a liberal trial lawyer on the issues would be worth paying to watch.
