2005 Murder of Girl ?........

I am looking for anyone who knows anything about a case where a Carrier,Ms. child was killed by her mother and stepfather in October 2005. The girl's name was Ashley Andrews, age 12 and her mother is Christina Andrews/or Christina Dillard and the girl's stepdad is Shaun Dillard.

They were charged in her death,and it might have reached a grand jury, but there hasn't been anything at all in the news since 2005. Does anyone know what is going on with this case? It might be a death penalty case. If you know, please post.

it will be a death penalty case against the mother Shaun did not pass the mental compentency test so that can not seek the death penalty against him(unfortunatley). her trail date is set for 11/24/08 and his is set for 09/22/08. thank you for the kind words. It has been a very rough time on me and my children. They ask everyday about their sister. If you would post your email I will keep you in touch.

Shaun Dillard has pled guilty to aiding and abedding in murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He will now testify against Christina. The charge of murder and sexual assault was dropped

I am Ashley's Grandmother.Shaun Dillard was given a life sentence without parole not due to mental incompitance but in exchange for testamony against his wife.I know because I was in the courtroom.Her father did not come to the plea.

I am Ashley's maternal grandmother.I raised her till she was seven years old.Her mother then took off with her and I could not find them.Ashley went through more torture in her short life than most war stories you hear about.It did not start with Shaun Dillard only ended with him.

I am Ashley's grandmother.Shaun Dillard was given life in prison without parole.Christina goes to trial in November.The true facts of what happened to Ashley are too horrible to print.I still spend sleepless nights crying,I suppose I always will. Plaese pray for me.

Does anyone know what happened to the notebook Ashley had kept? It was mentioned in the newspaper article right after her death. She had been writing in a notebook and hid it under mattress? I think that's what the paper said.

I, too, am very sad about Ashley's death. Things such as happened to her should not happen to any child. I pray for you that God will be very present to you and comfort you.

i was just wondering if the daughter is still in jail b/c there is a lady with the same name as her that lives in that area and i know b/c i live there now down the road from where it happened. i was told about the horrific night about two days ago and i thought of that lady when i saw the name! i couldn't imagine what you and your family are having to go through, my heart goes out to you and your family! i have three kids of my own and i couldnt imagine what i would do if that ever happpened to one of them or when i have granchildren. please let me know if that is her so i know not to let my children around this lady because she knows my father and law and i would hate to say something awful to the wrong person!

Her father was not notified of the plea deal until after the plea was done. Which is not unusual for how things are done there. Kathleen, I have thought about you many times and have prayed for you as well. I know this must be terrible for you. Paul will be there in Nov. for the trial. There is a site you should go to it is find a grave.com their is a memorial for Ashley there. And yes Ashley's "mother" is still in jail.

I was privy and intimate to this case from the beginning. The mother in this case is a good candidate for the innocence project. She is in jail, nearly three years because the D.A. said,"She had to have know". I personnaly knew the mother and father. Further having been educated and trained in crimminal justice I closely followed this case, following behind the investigation, if such could be called investigation. This is a classic case of law enforcement finding someone guilty and deliniating their resources to prove it, not looking at the fact. Christine was a kind and loving mother. Shaun, without doubt was the perpetrator of the deed. While investigating this case, the crime scene was left open to the public, people came and went as they pleased, taking things from the home. I personally observed primary evidence the so called investigators did not seem to find pertinent. Of course with such a slipshold effort, with minds already made up, what difference. There was no serious questioning of anyone else, though there were unregistered sex offenders living in the area and people traveling through the yard regularly. This is much like the William's case of Ada, Oklahoma where the D.A. decided the guilt and pursude it until a conviction was obtained. As stated, Shaun Dillard is guilty, though he muddled his way through many questioning sessions and having been appointed apparently a good attorney who opposed the death penalty. Dillard has basically admitted most of the damage to the Child, except the actually killing, which he hinted was the mother. He apparently made a deal to testify, which will be all lies, to plead guilty to a lesser charge and received life. I have sat in court for many hours, and other than the williams case mentioned and those like him, have I not seen a greater mis-carriage of justice. I could give you enough to write a small book and did not seem to have a place to vent unto witnessing in court, yet to come. The D.A.'s office has hinted Christina could walk except for the question, Did she know. On this,she has suffered untold misery and is still doing so. The body of the child was given to the absent father who immediately had it cremated. Visual evidence was all obtained, no rape kit, nothing. Her baby son was taken by the state and put on the auction block for adoption and She has not even been to court. You want a story? Contact me.

Who ever gave some of the comments was not privy to the facts, apparently Shaun was found competant to stand trial.

Christina was no more a good and loving mother than the man on the moon. Please give me a break. As to Ashley's father, no way will I take up for him because I do put alot of blame on him but he was only proven to be Ashley's father in 2002. After that was proven he went immediately for custody I know because at that time I was married to him and we spent alot of time and money to get her to live with us. So you know the facts then you must know of the thousands of pages the DHR has to that proves that Chris was not a good mother. A judge return her to mother in 2004. Her father did not immediately have her cremated. He waited until the state released her body after having completed all the test that needed to. Nobody said he wasnt comptent to stand trial they said he didnt pass the test to be tried for the death penalty. If your child was severly abused for three days prior to their murder dont tell me she didnt know. She deserves everything she gets and the lethal injection will be the easy way out for her. But she will have to face a higher judge one day and that will be the day Ashley gets true justice. THe only thing that I agree with you on is that the crime scene was not sealed off which should have been for the start.
