Superintendents oppose school discipline proposals

BATON ROUGE - School superintendents from throughout Louisiana made it clear Thursday they don't want the state Legislature telling them how to maintain discipline in their schools. via The Shreveport Times

Why not.... It has to be better than what they are doing!
They have had the chance to do it and FAILED MISERABLY.
SCHOOLS ARE OUT OF CONTROL.
SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE.

I cant speak for all of the schools in La., but I can certainly speak for Franklinton Jr High. I think the student are labeles too fast versed the staff working or training or simply brainstroming ways to improve the moral of ALL the students. How can they expect the children to do better when, when the staff don't work with parents as a team. I called the school and left several messages for the principal and the assistant principal to call, after that didnt work I went to school and the principal couldnt give me one minute of her time. HOWEVER, WHEN MY CHILD BREAK A CLASS RULE THEY FIND TIME TO CALL, AND TYPE A BEHAVIOR REPORT. HOW CAN A CHILD BE PUNISHED FOR SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED A MONTH AGO. THE TEACHER DONT REMEMER AND THE CHILD DONT EITHER.
THEY SHOULD....because at the rate we are going more children will be dropping out of school, without a FAIR chance.
