It's Buy One, Give One Away, for NWA Soul Food Restaurant - KFSM

As the economy sinks, homelessness continues to rise, in Northwest Arkansas. But one Fayetteville woman is attempting to fix that stat through hot meals, served with love.

Thank y'all very much for coming out today. We really appreciate the kind words and the support we receive from everyone. Right now, we don't have a perfect plan to make this happen, but we've got a great group of folks working here that are willing to do what it takes to figure it out.

Our goal as a restaurant is to serve great soul food in a comfortable environment. We're working to establish our own 501c3, but will work with local food banks and shelters until we reach that goal. Our goal as a non-profit will be to treat everyone with love and respect. We'll create a place that gives those who are unable to afford a hot meal, the opportunity to get something good to eat (in a comfortable setting as well). It will also give those wishing to volunteer with us, the opportunity to create relationships with folks who they might not have ever come into contact with because of a couple different turns in life.

We don't know how everything will turn out. We'll be patient, do our best, and continue to share our story with anyone who would like to listen. From top to bottom, we're doing our best to make this world a more comfortable place...one plate of soul food at a time.

We need more Momma Deans. If each of us could feed one hungry person we could wipe out hunger in our area. My hat is off too Momma Dean and my prayers are with her and her hard work.
