Anyone who knows anything about the last Boca Raton city council election knows that the voters were tired of the status quo that has ruined property values and created an over-developed city that is on the path to resembling Miami. Anthony Majhess and Constance Scott were voted-in to stop the status quo and so far only Majhess has kept his campaign agenda in support of residents.
Miami? Is that your best shot? Miami? Wow, that was brilliant. Coral Gables maybe, but Miami? Next thing you will say is Boca looks like NYC. Pay attention to what the whole world knows. Your ruined property value is due your dry cleaner lady buying 5 condos on spec and no one wanting to live down here in the land of the lost, old ,wrinkled, loony and angry. As soon as Anthony learns how to read a budget he too will become the status quo and maybe do something productive other than talk and count his pension $ you Boca suckers paid for.

Frankly Fat Unhappy Angry, your posted comment reminds one of a talking a-whole ... loud, smelly and generally obnoxious.
What an image! Sounds like you are close and personal friends with Barney Frankfooter. Yuck.

It appears Arts was lazy as a Councilman too, maybe that's what lost him the campaign. Is it so hard to give credit where credit is due? What the heck has Whelchel done in the last several years? It seems to me this city has been at a stand still for quite a while. What makes you equate Majhess with "anyone" from the past. I would suggest you stop living in the past, step into the present, pay attention and listen instead of spewing old rhetoric. Do you actually go to, or watch the meetings? It sure doesn't sound like it! Try paying attention to what's really going on now, not a hundred years ago. It might be a good idea to be a little more supportive, open minded and less critical. If you can get out of the past you may be surprised and actually see something nice actually happen in this city.
There are plenty of open minded people that have eyes and ears but look for results that never happened with obstructionists of the past that played the populist card. There are 4 council members DOING positive things and one that is playing the populist politician . Does he have the courage to actually stand up to the do nothings and say" I have studied the budget, I understand the drivers of this community , understand property law, and agree that we need XYZ? It is not that complicated. That would be NICE for the community. And guess what....everyone wants him to succeed and ask the hard questions that the other won't, but riling up the paranoid naysayers that spew venom is very trailertrashy and he will be a "one and done" councilmember.

Guess Charlie Siemon needs to make that comment about the new council member having to learn a lot more since he doesn't kiss up to him like the other city officials do.
CFA has been a total failure and all the City does is keep pumping money into an organization that is led by people that don't know the least bit on how to run special events.
The truth about the failure of the old-boy network led by Siemon needs to be publicized in the media, as pro-development leaders are falling fast thanks to the populist outcry.

Yes, thank goodness. If they all fall, then we'll never have an economic recovery. The naysayers are good for about $10 worth of investment in our community. They got theirs, so they don't care if others can't feed their families. Boca development has always been reasonable and orderly compared to other neighboring cities, but that's not good enough. Nothing is good enough for them--quite literally.

So you live in a tent and not a development? Oh I forgot you got yours and no one else is allowed in. Give you land back to the Indians, Spanish and move to Detriot ( spelling emphasis) where you can never have to worry about "development " or jobs again and probably live for free collecting your "pension" or find another hack job. And by the way, where is there development? Check into the City and see how many permits or applications there are. I look forward to your Millage rates being raised to that of Boynton ,then you will have to cut back on your cigs, Bud, and have a tag sale for all of your Walmart furniture.Maybe you are in favor of Government "taking" land ...very Obama. Maybe you long for the Old Boca Mall with its great trailer trash tenants. Yeah , now that was really good development. The old boys would love more media about the failure of the Old Girls and what they have done to your dumbas City and you have no idea what the word "Truth" means, you don't want to hear it. Remember in the movie "A Few Good Men" Jack Nickelson did not know the truth and went to jail.We may agree on one thing, the Sun Sentinel is corrupt and complicit with the wink wink troika of Patty,Nicole and Jack. The FBI is on that one and the troika is still in denial just like your Old girl Mary was. Can't wait.

The old-boy/Susan network helped create the current real estate glut and commercial ghetto and they need to be held accountable by elected officials like Majhess to were elected based upon correcting the rubberstamped development approvals supported by Siemon & Co. The voters in Boca Raton have spoke, but some city leaders still have not got the message--thank you Majhess for listening & supporting voters

So when the market was flying and your "development" was worth 50% more than today and there were enough jobs to pay for Anthony's Union job you were protesting in the streets...."Please lower my net worth!" "Please get these kids, parks, beach ,restaurants and people out of here" "Raise my taxes" Wow...I take it all back, you are right. If the voters have spoken ( all few thousand of them) then why are there 4 others in office who are making things happen rather than looking for publicity for beating a tired old man and having no ability to connect an educated brain with the mouth. I admit, your intellect has worn me out- CIAO.

Developers are allowed to offer Bait and Switch promises with their developments throughout So. FL and Boca is leading the pack in allowing this to happen as the city manager wants every dollar of additional tax revenue regardless of the impact on the residential quality of life.
