You are dead on. The older you get, with more experience, the less needed you are.

Automation of Capitalism must turn toward semi-Socialism.

There are only so many service jobs needed or necessary.

That is a bunch of nonsense. Who do you think your boss is going to be some 25 year old? Not likely. The graduates of new cannot match up to the graduates of old. They most generally lack the same ethics and morals. I will hire the older professional any day over the new grad.

I hope it doesn't happen to you. It happened to my husband. His job either went to a kid or outsourced to India. Now we get to live on 60% less than what he was making before. I'm thankful he still is employed and has benefits. good luck to you.

I am very glad I left South Florida for greener pasture. Went to college graduated with a BBA, I couldn't even get a job paying 12hr. Once I move to the land down under (Australia). I landed a job within 2 weeks paying me 65k a year.

I had no problem finding a job in Agriculture when I graduated. And companies are still looking for people because it's hard to find someone who wants to work hard.

So, your skills set that couldn't even get you $12/hr here somehow got you $65K/yr in Austraila? What's your field? Kangaroo analysis?

Clue number 1: No one wants to hire or work with a whiner-49er.

No dummy, the older you get with more experience AND unrealistic expectations of wage causes your obsolescence. Age and experience alone do not.

Join the rank of unemployment. Ameican Express FTL just reduced the workforce last week. The work is now in India. Please don't be fool. It should be called India Express. Thanks to the Senior Mgmt team.

Whatever you do, do not let these people go into education. The school system is already over flowing with people that shouldn't be in the classroom. The last thing we need is people trying to teach because they have a degree and can't find work in their field. If your goal is to be a lawyer and you can't pass the bar, don't just say "I guess i'll teach history, at least I'll have summers off." Just like some people are ment to be doctors, some people are ment to be teachers. It's a skill, a gift. And most people don't have it or understand it. We do not want or need you messing up the youth of the nation, so look for work elsewhere!

What jobs are left in Florida, service jobs....service jobs, service jobs
Paying no more than $10 bucks a hour....how can people live off that....
My job will be going overseas in the fall....accounting ...go figure...may have to move to ATL to find a decent accounting position... companies in FLA wants to pay under $45K for accountants...they must be out of their minds.....
