The Today Show? Already? This all seems weird. And by weird I mean setting up a huge lawsuit.

From the sound of the family's attorney, it sounds like there's going to be a lawsuit.

Typical way to set up a lawsuit, exactly!
And here comes the shyster attorney, screaming bloody murder. I wonder when people will get sick of such nonsense. If the condition is not manifested until the person is under anesthesia, how the heck is it the doctor's fault?

90% survive--- she must have been in the 10th percentile. Maybe nothing they did could save her. They are looking for blame.. its a horrible tragedy.. but maybe she just happened to be the small percent that cannot survive this.

I wonder if their Malpractice Lawyer has considered this. NOT!
It is in very poor taste to zip on TV so soon also- they just buried her.

Jules, it's definitely going to be a huge lawsuit, but it will never bring their daughter back. This is a terrible tragedy that could have happened anywhere at any time. For her lawyer to have called the doctors mechanics is indicative of a lawyer's response. Of course, he has to justify his 30-40% cut of the lawsuit, right?

All smoke and mirrors by the parents. It's so obvious that the surgery was a grad gift for bigger breasts. People die all the time in surgery, elective or not. Once again, white upper class gets the media coverage. SS is so lame. All very sad.

I feel very bad for the family and think they have acted just fine. My condolences. Why anyone cares if they sue or not is beyond me (myob).

p.s.
They were basically forced to go on tv, so many national news items list the girl as having been in to get a boob job. I think they just wanted to explain it was corrective surgery.

How can you know the unforseen? You don't. The parents said in the interview that they did their research and the clinic was state of the art. Then the attorney says "What happened to this girl in the surgical suite, they might as well have been a couple mechanics. I've spoken to so many experts and this girl did not have a chance in that clinic."

It can't be both ways.

We are a society always wanting to blame so of course there will be a law suit.

Pictures of Stephanie show a beautiful young lady. I wish her parents had decided not to buy into this plastic surgery epidemic. What is wrong with this society that measures everyone by their looks? Too bad Stephanie didn't have the opportunity to learn her value from what's on the inside. God bless her and her family......please stop this craziness now!

This is a shame. Yes, lawsuit is coming soon. You mean that this girl did not have any other type of surgery until now??? If she was so conscious about her looks - I am sure the implants were not the first thing she had done! Her parents helped to pick a doctor, drove her there and then the unfortunate. Why blame the doctors for this girl's birth defect.

90% survive, unfortunate that she was the among the 10% that did not. Now the parents are on The Today Show!!!! Hell of a grieving process there folks..And some pig lawyer now claims that he has spoken to "experts" well ANY board certified physician can be called an expert... A sad and unfortunate event but also no ones fault really...

I had eye surgery with this doctor and he is the best. His care was excellent. Sometimes things just happen and there is such a thing as the unknown. Not everything must be a law suit. Had this young lady had any surgery for any reason, this would havbe happened.

Read the article. You can't be selfless and extremely self-conscious at the same time. Look at the photos. This is a clear case of too much money and too much time on their hands.

Only time and forensics will tell if the surgeon or the anesthesiologist committed an error of omission or co-mission, which is the only grounds to institute a malpractice action. Regardless, this was an unfortunate loss of such a young life, but not necessarily a blameful one!
