Looks like the good ole boys have again voted to keep the evil alcohol out of Boaz. Albertville thanks you. Sardis thanks you. The bootleggers thank you. The old adage is still true:" Ignorance is bliss".

I agree with you Thomas, Albertville and Sardis are the real winners here. All Boaz did was prevent any new restaurants from coming to Boaz and all the alcohol tax money that the residents of Boaz have been spending are still leaving Boaz going to Albertville and Sardis.

The only thing the city of Boaz has ever had to bring in any kind of money were the outlets. Boaz needs to get its act together as the roads there are terrible and they have been facing one budget shortfall or another for years.

Heck even uptight and churchified Arab went wet. Boaz that means yall are sucking hind tit in Marshall County but dont feel bad you still generate more money that Douglas but barely.

Not bitter, just bewildered why any intellengent person would beleive that staying dry would keep people from purchasing alcohol. My gosh, it's only a matter of feet down 431 to the nearest store. It's legal to transport it back in, so where do these people justify a dry vote? It must be the thumpers and the older folks with kids out of school that don't think the town needs the revenue. The outlets and the mill were great for years but they are history and the town needs new energy to keep it going before it becomes a ghost town like so many small towns have done here in the South.

Wow this is going to be strong so hold on I am a christian however HYPOCRITES the Churches in Boaz you either took money or in kind services to put the billboard up on Billy Dyar Blvd, Everybody knows that Kilpatrick owns that Billboard and he also owns 1st Superstore in SARDIS. He was protecting HIS best intersest in SARDIS and not what was best for Boaz. Politics are a funny thing. Boaz is wet they just do not get any revenue for it. We have the same problems, issues, only thing is we don't have the extra money to deal with them???

Without alcohol available for sale in the city of Boaz you can forget ANY type of chain/theme restaurants coming to your city. You say you wonder why Albertville and Guntersville get all the name brand restaurants well this is why. All Boaz has and is ever going to have will be fast food places. Boaz will end up being swallowed up and surrounded by Albertville one day mainly because the people of Boaz and its leaders want to stay in the 1950's while the rest of Marshall County and especially Albertville move into the 21st century.

I mean really what good does it do to be able to buy alcohol everywhere except the city you live in? Boaz city schools consistantly have lower test scores than most of the kids in the county schools so the parents in Boaz should want the alcohol tax money in order for their children to have a better education. look at Guntersville their teachers get paid more in part to the alcohol tax money raised there.

It is still dry because like me there was no signs to tell you to go in that 2 ft x 4ft room to vote on w/dry there was a one sign with a arrow that said voting I think that little room was a scam I thought it was the spit room because it had men sitting around talking and spitting in a cup if I knew that where you voted for w/dry there was room to get in there I thought it was a lounge no it was a scam
