why not just sell the property to a private company, take the money and pave some streets.
Small business just might bring in jobs and new taxes, the city needs revenue from new business not a new place to play.

All kids need a new place to play. I'm sure it would generate revenue of some sort. Being that close to the college and schools, probably not a good idea. Already proven the "stores" just don't work there. It used to be a great place to shop but now it's just outdated and no one wants to drive very far for the little options they hold. Renovation might help but there is no guarantee that new stores would hold interest in Boaz. I just don't see getting an Old Navy or Victoria's secret to move in.
