There's a case of a mother committing domestic violence just today:

What's the plan for protecting against mad mums?

I know that in Guntersville, Al., there used to be housing for men just like women; that were caught up in domestic violence situations. They [men] are treated equal to women when it came to not having a place to live when they left a relaionship and home under these circumstances.
In this particular instance [Erica Droze], it is the victim's brother, country music singer "BILLY RYAN", that is speaking out and has organized the benefit for her children and the Domestic Violence group. Erica just happened to have a brother in the public eye that has sought to speak out. I am sure if it were a brother, he would be doing the same. I have met him and he is genuine as they come, plain and simple, good hearted. He comes from a normal-class hardworking family. What he has, he has worked for, nothing has been given to him.

What a great thing to do. We need to bring forth more awareness to domestic violence and create more such events such as this to help families left behind with such pain.
Thanks for sharing.

its a shame that men out there think they have to beat up on women to make them big. I know how each and everyone out there feels who have ever been in that kind of a situation for i was in one and thank god i got out and it still bothers me to this day.

The victims in violent relationships need to remove themselves from that environment. The Police and the Justice System should protect them, and the ones who should 'live in fear' are the offenders. Above all else, consider the children - after all, they can't comprehend why their mum's covered in bruises and cuts, and dad's being dragged off by the Police. (Or vice-versa). Greatest respect to Billy Ryan for helping raise the profile of this sickening social problem.
