Just a few thoughts. 1. When does the Government (City of Albertville) go into competition with private business? The Government can take the money out of our pockets to pay for whatever items that business needs. The Private Business has to EARN their money first before they pay their bills. 2. You spend 8 million tax dollars to build a facility and then hand the keys over to a group of investors from Wyoming who have no vested or monetary interest in your community? 3. You don't look into the past history of the AFEC Company and see that in the State of Wyoming they have 7 limited liabilty corps.(LLC) Another LLC in Idaho and they ALL are not in good standing in those states DISSOLVED DUE TO FAILURE TO PAY TAXES and SALES TAXES are what the city is depending on to REPAY the TAXPAYER Loan??? 4. That the AFEC website list all of these developments they have but they don't actually run any of them?? They list projects as ongoing but are no longer even being pursued or on hold (IE.) Spring Grove Illinois
5. If that is not enough then the person the City of Albertville is handing the keys over to at American Family Entertainment has been cited in 2005 on at least 6 properties including his Pinedale Entertainment Facilty as being delinquent on his taxes and put on the courthouse steps as sold to highest bidder, mistake well it happened again in 2007???? Oh and I almost forgot the formed a new corporation on 09-08-2010 in Wyoming NOT ALABAMA it's called Albertville Investment Partners, LLC and interestingly enough the person whom the City of Albertville plans to purchase the land from Don Spurlin is a PARTNER in this new group. Who wants to BET on what CONSTRUCTION COMPANY GETS TO BUILD THE NEW FACILTY?? We need to Wake Up in this Country and start doing what is RIGHT. Check my findings online Secretary of State Wyoming and Idaho?

I could not agree more. Sometimes I feel as if people are out for themselves, instead of what is best for the community. I am definitely not for this idea.

Well I googled your info and was unable to find anything that backs this up. AFEC specializes in helping small towns to maximize profits in the entertainment industry. As far as Spurlin goes he is friends with the people who own the businesses in Boaz one of the owner's wives even works for him. This is a bunch of bull.

Your right I never thought about one of the owners wife working for Mr. Spurlin that makes me even more angry that he has no consideration that she is one of the Realtors in his office and is taking away her livelihood. WOW she must really be in very difficult situation. My prayers go out to her and her family.

Well check the info (way it goes) if you want the facts. Secretary of State of Wyoming then search businesses, Type in, American Family Entertainment Center you will see 7 0r 8 listings. You can also type in the filing number 2004-000479943 or
2007-000547757 or 2004-000467879 or 2004-000479950
or 2004-000466514 or 2001-000419273 or 2004-000467214 those are all the ones that have been Administratively Dissolved (Taxes). There is also another Kellen owned LLC called Pinedale Entertainment Partners LLC which was just reinstated this year. It had been Admin Dissolved (Taxes) 1997-000322919. Now while your there you can look at the new partnership formed on September 8th 2010 under the name Albertville Investment Partners, LLC 2010-000589478 the members of this partnership are William G. Kellen, Art LeFeber, David Morris, Thomas Welch, Russ Naylor, and Don Spurlin and any other individuals or entities which may become a member. The Source for that is the Legal Section Sand Mountain Reporter notice filed by the City of Albertville for Expenditure of PUBLIC FUNDS and PUBLIC PROPERTY announcing the Meeting and public comments September 20th, 2010. If you want to find out about William G. Kellen go to the County of Sublette look at the Sublette Examiner newspaper his tax failures are listed. Just google his name.

I just researched this and I am in shock about all the facts. Albertville Residence please voice your opinion before Sept 20, 2010. City Hall needs to give explaination about these facts and they need to do it publicly in the Sand Mountain Reporter. Albertville can't be this desprite to just close there eyes on the FACTS.

Ignore him....everybody puts names on here. He likes to be bossy. As far as the city council goes I 'm sure common sense has brought this up to them and given them the info. He/she is always intelligent and knowledgeable about their posts. This has been voted in, am I correct???

There is so much more. I think somebody needs to make the Council aware. Doug Woods smelled a rat and voted no. I will post more if anybody really cares. I am so worried we have just given up in this country and let them do to us what they want.

The first meeting that Albertville organized the public really didn't know about Project X, so not to many people showed up, but now that it's been the talk for serveral weeks they should have plenty of people asking questions and demanding answers. Common Sense please coordinate another public meeting. It looks like you should be on the council.

Yes it's sad that the Albertville people smell rats and lots of betrail going on but it's more sad that the people that sit on the coucil are making the worse decision for the city of Albertville and putting them in more debt instead of helping them get out of debt. They should use this money to invest into another type of venue instead of taking this risk with this uncertain company (AFEC).

I know this may sound crazy but?? Why not ask AFEC or any Company invest YOUR MONEY and we will give you incentives, pave the roads, give you turn lanes etc. Why not go and try to get Sam's to come or maybe a Target we know those companies are reputable. If I were the Mayor I would ask AFEC if they would Invest THEIR money in the Albertville Venture. They came and talked to the council and told them how prosperous it would be. If they being AFEC have done the studies and have promised the City of Albertville how much money they would make WHY won't they invest THEIR MONEY?? You know what I bet somebody asked them and they said NO. I have no facts on that just guessing because thats what I would ask?

I think we need this for the city of Albertville. The opposition is coming from the owners of the one in another city. They are concerned for themselves, that is selfish. If the city is paying for it why not cut out the Afec and let the city own it since they are paying for it? Simple solution. Albertville is heavily populated they will prosper from this.
