I'm new to the area & I was wondering if there is a way to get my resume straight to someone at Nucor Yamato or Hickman, or if I should go to a temp agency.. Any info is appreciated & thank you.

Call Nucor human recourses and they will fill you in. They don't accept resumes directly anymore.

Yep they think they can design the new lunar space station at nucor. But in fact all they can do is temper metal.Which has been done for 1000years or so. So getting on out there is slim to none. Unless your prepared to lie, cheat, steal, cheat on your old lady then your probably not going to get on. One other thing you must also believe that everyone is sub par human and there jobs are nothing as well. Oh yea prepare to be like the tradition of getting drunk and every weekend and on your days off. Always agree with the boss, even though sometimes his or her views are so retar# that a monkey would laugh. Practice telling your bosses and there family remembers that they are always right and be prepared for them to take credit from you on jobs. Be prepared to be lied on.
Prepare to give clean up crews and contractors a hard time about nothing. Because that is your job to plague mankind with lunacy. Well at least here. From what I understand its not like this place in other places. That is about it. Follow those rules you should be able to get a job there.

I am a mother of a Nucor employee..I also felt the same as some of these people..When my son wanted to get a job there I told him we don't know anyone out there so don't get your hopes up. I never thought it would happen but encouraged him to do it. There is a website that on a certain day of the month you can apply. Weeks went by and nothing happened. He was contacted by someone for an interview then another interview and several more. He's been employed there for sometime now. He says it's the best place he's ever worked; you do your job; come in when your scheduled and they treat you great just like any job. So try and try again...he knew absolutely noone and did not have years of job experience. You do have a chance don't listen to the ones that tell you otherwise.

Agreed. I worked there for almost 20 years. I didn't know a soul out there and dang sure wasn't kin to anyone there. Sure, it's hard to get on there now a days, but it can be done. They have to hire someone..make sure you're the guy they want to hire.

Let's see:
I don't lie, cheat or steal
I don't call my wife of 30 years "My old lady"
Nobody is sub human...... But I haven't met you yet!
Don't drink, it make me fat.
Argue with my boss more than agree
Never been "lied on" as far as I know, but they might have lied about it
The contractors I know are good hard working people
Don't think enough of myself to do anythin to mankind
And have a lot more class than to call anyone retarded..... You chump!
Believe me Nucor doesn't want you

Chump you said? LOL truth hurts. Go breath in some more dust and die in your early 50s. Wait wash all that dust down with good old fashion beer. I bet you really like beer, don't you? Remember you have only four days to drink. Ware your funny little hard hat and walk around with your hand on your hip sticking your nose up at contractors and temps, knowing deep down with out them your not sh$t. But a cotton chopper, or better yet farm labor. No offense to farmers or labors. Just showing this poor bast#rd that he or she is not much of nothing. That is why you will be forgotten in time.
