Because Colonel Sanders sold chicken. Because Columbus didn't discover America and the truth us finally getting told. Colonel Reb harkens back to white racists that were mad because they couldn't get free labor anymore off of black people. Get educated. Your buffoonish behavior crying about why you can't be a racist anymore surely isn't going to make you any friends except other folks just like you. It isn't the words. It's the intent of the words. It's really not that hard to understand. But the racist, controlling way of life in the south in these backwater towns is over. It's a sign of positive change. Towns like Blytheville with inept leaders and racist city council members that like to post divisive nonsense all the time are over with- the answer is change or die. And the proof is all around you.

Columbus, by his own admission in his diaries, sold native girls, preferably nine and ten-year-olds, into sex slavery for his men.

He enslaved natives and made them mine for gold until they died from exhaustion. If they didn't meet their daily quotas, he instructed his men to cut off their hands and make them wear them as necklaces.

This wasn't simply a case of 'things were different back then' the things he did were so disgusting, he and his brothers were arrested by the governor and made to stand trial back in Spain, but the king and queen pardoned him because the slave trade brought in money.

He wiped out a population of over 150,000 natives in two years.

Colonel Sanders was born in Indiana, which was never a slave state to begin with. He was born well after the civil war, never owned slaves and gave decades of his life serving this country.

WE should have Colonel Sanders day instead of Columbus day

Also f-ck you, racist.

Obviously y9u have comprehension problems. Educate yourself. Nobody needs the truth changed to make them feel better. People are finally telling the, truth for a change.

For instance: saying that Columbus Day shouldn't be celebrated because he didnt discover America and because he was a thieving, murderous, raping piece of dung isn't "rewriting history". It's telling the truth. For once. Go look it up. Educate yourself.

Because for all we know, Colonel Sanders is a fictitious character. At least I think he is. And besides, people love chicken. They don't care about the person advertising the chicken, they just love chicken. And speaking of KFC, shouldn't it be called AFC which stands for Arkansas Fried Chicken instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken. We don't live in Kentucky, after all.

Martin Luther King was a philanderer and womanizer. Cheated on his wife, had women at every town he visited.

But hey, that's OK. He gets a pass.

I think I've made it pretty clear that the people at the time thought what he was doing was pretty abhorrent, he was, after all arrested and imprisoned for crimes against the native people.

“Such inhumanities and barbarisms were committed in my sight as no age can parallel. My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature that now I tremble as I write.”-Bartolome De Las Casas

The quote was written by one of his men, who was so disgusted that he joined the priesthood.

De Las Casas described how the Spaniards under Columbus’ command cut off the legs of children who ran from them, to test the sharpness of their blades. They made bets as to who could cut a person in half with one sweep of his sword . He says that Columbus’ men poured people full of boiling soap. In a single day, De Las Casas was an eye witness as the Spanish soldiers dismembered, beheaded, or raped 3000 native people.

He also burned people alive, and ordered that babies be fed to the dogs when they ran out of food for them.

Just because it happened hundreds of years ago doesn't make it less horrible. It's not like this was totally normal behavior. People still experienced fear, and pain, and trauma, just like they do today. They aren't any different.

Harland Sanders was the very real founder of KFC. He had the title of Colonel given to him by the Governor of Kentucky, which was once somewhat common.

A tiny, tiny excerpt. Read this. Read the Smithsonian articles ( also known as the highest museum of American history, may be you know better though).

Or not. And if that's the case then just publicly state that you wish to willfully remain ignorant and uneducated.

And stay off of public forums with your ignorant nonsense. I call bs on your common sense and ability to use your brain in a logical fashion.
