just recently signed up for ritter's high speed internet. after the install, i really enjoy the speed of the service. i only signed up for their standard plan of 3Mbs. conpared to what i what i had, it is really fast!! did a test on cnet and speedtest and got results of anywhere from 7-8mbs download and 1.5-2.1mbs upload with a ping of 58. thats sounds faster than what i signed up for. should i call them? do you think the guy installed the wrong router??

i just did the test as well at speedtest and came up with 2.89 DL and .49 UL and ping of 13. I'm on the standard as well. You might want to make sure you're not being charged for the higher speed, first. It maybe be something they are offering on a temp basis for new customers?

Just to give you a heads up..Ritter is basically sudsidizing for their extremely high price for a substandard 3Mbs download. After working for a communications company for the past 10 years, it is as simple as a work order to change the speed (the router doesn't control how fast you are receiving it) I wouldn't report anything to them. After all, the tactic is this: They will get you used to having that type of speed (standard industry wide is 7-10 MBs) and as soon as they bring the speed back down to what they sold you, they will in turn be more than happy to return you to the higher speed you are receiving now.(at the cost of the higher speed) People don't be fooled. The cable company is the biggest ripoff since Bush went looking for Osama bin Laden. Don't believe the hype!

yes. there 3mbs package is 41.95 and the 15 mps is 51.95 (shows you what kind of mark up is in their products!) i just tested mine again and i am still way faster than 3mbs (and thats what the paperwork said 3mps.) guess i'll just enjoy the speed while it lasts.

ANYBODY CAN REPLY TO ME. I AM A FORMER RITTERNET customer left back when all they offered was dial up and went to sudden link. checked out ritternet website just curious to see if they offered high speed now. so you guys really paying like 41.95 for 3mbps and and 51.95 for 15 mbps ? if so that sounds high. I am with sudden link and I have 15 mbps internet and it only costs me $35 a month.

I too am a new Suddenlink customer having recently moved from Blytheville. I have essentially the same services with Suddenlink as I did with Ritter, I am paying for 15 getting about 12, same number of channels and phone service and I am paying 15 a month for it in Jonesboro. I really can't complain about either company, Ritter was always there when I needed them and Suddenlink has gone out of their way in setting up my house to suit me. We have come a long way since Sudbury Communications.

Its 41 for 8Mbps, 51 for 15. 75 for 30 and 125 for 50. I dont think they have the 3 plan anymore in this areas because there was an updated to 8.

Ritter did something else to "up grade" think it was on Wednesday.
Channel numbers have changed and on the different channels the volume is screwed up...have to turn my volume all the way up.

What are they going to do next..charge "a volume up grade fee" to be able to hear those channels?

Here we go again I cannot wait to find out out how much this upgrade is costing!

Some idiot been saying that for years and Ritter just keeps getting bigger, I checked with FCC and they don't have any actions going against Ritter nor does the Attorney General's office, I think that is just wishful thinking on your part. Anyway, we will watch and wait and see what deep doodoo they are into.

The channel numbers changed because they added like 15 new channels to the digital and hd package. if you've got digital/hd already you've got the channels free with the exception of the new family package. the new free channels are actually pretty nice - my kids have been enjoying disney junior and I'm looking forward to getting some good use out of the new NFL channel. I'm getting those channels, with the exception of the family package for free... as is everyone else who has the digital/hd package. I like it. And I'm not sure what kind of volume problem you're talking about. Mine sounds fine.

By the way, I just switched from dish about a month ago because they are having the same "problems" as direct tv. They dropped a lot of channels.

Better be careful on here, saying anything nice will bring down the wrath of the sooze, and you never want to get that nonsense started again.
