LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP)- Federal prosecutors say they've indicted 22 people on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine throughout Arkansas.

The U.S. attorney's office calls the investigation "Operation Meilke Way" after 38-year-old Michael Meilke of Bradford. Meilke faces multiple charges of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.

Meilke, who was indicted in August, has pleaded not guilty, according to court documents unsealed Tuesday.

His jury trial is set for Sept. 24. Prosecutors say 17 of the 22 people indicted are in police custody after arrest warrants were executed Tuesday.

Prosecutors claim the methamphetamine was brought to Arkansas from Mexico and that the drug trafficking occurred in homes with children present and close to elementary schools.

In all, police seized 13.3 pounds of methamphetamine, seven vehicles and more than $163,000 in cash.

THE DRUG DEALERS THAT YOU KNOW. The only way you KNOW someone's selling dope is to buy it from them. Are you that crackhead you keep talking about gonna turn on your dealer. Go turn yourself in.
No, I hate to disappoint you but you don't have to buy drugs from a dealer to know he's a dealer no more than you have to make a purchase at the grocery store to know it's a grocery store. Everyone that lives around these houses knows what is going on. That doesn't mean that they buy drugs. If you are happy with the quality of this town then just keep making fun of those of us that aren't. I realize we aren't going to stop the drug dealers completely but crime is escalating in this town and I would bet it could all be traced back to drug addiction.

I am telling you something. This is a progressive problem. It will not get better. It WILL continue to get worse if nothing is done about it. Some innocent child or another innocent person is going to lose their life because of a deal gone bad. People deserve a safe place to live.

Didn't they bring in the State Police several years back and basically try to restore order to the south end of town one weekend in Blytheville? You say you've been around a long time, do you remember anything like that?

Yes. We even have to pay extra for police & fire protection in this fk'ed up burg. Funny that we're not seeing any above-average RESULTS.

We may pay extra but do they receive extra is the question. From what I've been told since Sanders has taken over this fk'ed up burg is lucky to have ANY police or fire protection left.

Yes I remember laughing about that. It was all a show put on to keep the people satisfied. Just like BPD hosting a seminar on crime for small businesses. It's just a show. The popo are money grubbin crooks also.

Deep seated. Not deep seeded. And envy is the sin that you are referring to, not jealousy. And yes there is a difference.
