I was just wondering if they really did lay-off or shut down. I know a few people that are trying to get a job out there and they were told they were going to start hiring people back at the end of January. A lot of people are in need of a job and that was their last hope.

Tenaris is the largest employer in mississippi county. They employed more than 1,200 people and layed off 10%. You do the math, they also added to this month rolling so things may look better by the end of January.

All I know is what I was told at the unemployment office, and I hope that I was lied to, or maybe the guy was just mistaken, I have a family and bills just like the next guy, so you folks call me names and make your fun, I am simply trying to give you all a heads up on whats to come. I also know that Tenaris Hickman isnt the only Tenaris Co closing for a week

Global News reported that a company that makes drilling pipes for the oilpatch will temporarily shut down its Calgary plant in response to low oil and gas prices.

Tenaris Prudential told its staff on Monday that it will cease operations for six days, beginning on Jan. 23.The temporary shutdown will affect 400 employees in Calgary.

YES INDEED ITS HAPPENING EVERYONE LAID OFF. with 190 brothers and sisters not returning to there jobs that some have had for over 10 years yes the price of oil and gas really sucks but the gross miss management by tenaris is far much worse,,, if you are in a union KEEP IT if your not in a union GET ONE, becuase workers with out union are very easy for tenaris to buly around the #1 thing tenaris has for bullying is FEAR, with there lack of comunication to there workers they create fear. you show strength and unity as one and tenaris tends to want to bargin abit more than just saying this is it take it or leave it

I hear alot of junk about Tenaris and others plants laying off and shutting down. And I am one of those dislocated works again. People it's not
funny when you work hard all you life to have a
good life and to be able to enjoy it. And the Congress allows bills to be passed that threaten the very fabric of the United States of America.
I have gone threw this the third time. Plant closing because of lack of work or them shipping every thing south of the boarder. People wake up
life will not be the same anymore as we once new it.
It hurts everyone one, because it is like a domimio effect. It just take a litte while to get
around to everyone. We have stood by and allowed
things to happen just becasue we thought( on they will never let that happen and it did)!
America is going to have to pay a heavy price because we have turned out back on God and His laws. And now we will be jugded by those laws.
Congress has forgotten who put them there and it's
time we let them know, our vote can't be sold.

If you don't know God you better or you are not going to make it.

I think you are wrong, American Greeting employees
about 4000 people and has 3000 acres under roof.
So I beg to differ.
And they have changed in the last 10 years also.
They went in and let everyone go that had been there a long time because they were making more money, than the one they could hire now. And start them out at $9.00 hours as temps for years without giving them a chance for benefits or insurance.

So wake up world, companies that use to care about
people, is not longer in business. People are just a number that can be replaced.
