Gregory arraignment postponed again

Wednesday, September 21, 2011
By Chris Pinkard | Courier News
The arraignment of a Blytheville man accused of making threats against numerous local officials has been postponed for the second time in two days.
James Gregory, of 510 S. Lilly St. in Blytheville, was arrested on Monday by Blytheville police on charges of terroristic threatening in the first degree. The arrest warrant, issued by the Arkansas State Police, was based on an email which Gregory apparently sent to the office of Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe, in which he allegedly made threatening remarks directed at Mississippi County officials.

Gregory, who is in custody at the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department detention center, was originally set for arraignment in Blytheville district court Tuesday morning. But Judge Shannon Langston made the call for Gregory's case to be heard by a circuit court judge in Osceola, because she is an elected official, and could have been grouped in with those indicated in the threat.

Gregory's arraignment was then scheduled for to be heard Wednesday morning by Circuit Court Judge Mike Gibson. However, as a Mississippi County district court judge, Gibson recused himself from the case, stating the arraignment would be heard by a judge outside of Mississippi County.

Gregory ran for the office of Blytheville city treasurer in 2010, and was arrested the night before election day, charged with obstruction of government operations and loitering. He was found walking on Willow Street at 3 a.m., carrying a political sign, and when questioned, allegedly attempted to use the sign as his form of identification.

This is America and we can walk where and when we want. Black people died for that right less than 50 years ago and if any of you are over the age of 30 then you know what Gregory is going thru. If you know this man then you know he grew up when blacks had to use the back door, drink out of separate water fountains, use separate bathrooms, sit in the balcony, sit in the colored table section, and yes go to different schools. If you live in Ward 3 and you said you want to be on the jury, then I hope not. You are the most ignorant black fool around. This man is trying to get you fools into the 1970 and out of this slave mentality, You are FREE and still bow your head to the master. Before you open your mouth again, get a history book and then talk about what another well educated brother is doing. Better yet, what are you doing to move this city out of slavery?

not nosey. I want the truth not the bucket of lies that keep going around. Why have they not brought him into court? If this email is so dangerous why have the FBI not been here to question him. If he is so dangerous why is he not on national news or any news for that matter. All I am saying something is wrong with this story. This is not the first time they lied.
