The same was going on last week as well, heard them fueling up a couple of times and that was it.
We need to be able to hear it, many times I've heard about prowlers in the area and it is good to be forwarned..

The police switched over to digital scanners a few weeks ago.
Digital scanners sell for somewhere between $400.00 and $500.00

I meant to say that between $400.00 and $500.00 is the least expensive digital scanner I have found. I'm sure there are some digital scanners that sell for over $500.00

Powers has been out! Nothing from penny pen hers to the railroad tracks has power in Blytheville. At least when I drove by earlier!

Have digital scanner. Couldn't hear them, nor could some of my friends.

Too many people feel they need to run out to crime scenes. They get in the way. Police don't want a bunch of rubber neckers driving around when they are trying to work so they block whatever they can from the nosey folks and the crooks

some people are actually trying to help the police. the police don't seem to be doing that great of a job lately. if the cops step out of line there needs to be some witnesses to that. the people have a right to know what's going on around them in this town so they can protect themselves accordingly. There are plenty of reasons to allow people to listen in, these are just a few.

The best way to help is to stay out of the way. Following the police is dangerous for the civilians and the police or any first responder trying to help. If you really want to help, maybe you could join the police and get the proper training, or join the rescue squad. They need more volunteers.

are you serious? you REALLY think this town needs MORE volunteers?? Ive never seen them do anything but get in the way! I give praise to the few that actually make a difference but there are very few that help. too many young ones that are in the way and taking pics on their cell phones and sending the pics around before the families even know theres been an accident! And yes I know this for fact. My daughter received such pics from one of your prized young "first responders"

I have never gone to a shooting scene,a traffic stop,a mob gathering, nor to a call to a family dispute,or to an area where a prowler was reported to be...rediculous! I doubt that others listening to their scanners would put themselves in jepordy either.
We should be able to hear what is going on....we PAY these people.

Nothing on the scanner because we are safe. Nothing bad going on. Mayor Sanders said if elected he would use his law enforcement background to make Blytheville safe. We are now safe and Sound because of the Mayor. Thank him when you see him. Please say thank you to our leader. Nothing on the scanner means you live in a safe town. No news is good news.

In the defense of first responders. My son was involved in a bad wreak in Nov 2001. It just happened that a first responder was behind him. That man stayed with him keeping him calm until other help could get there. I will forever be greatfull to this man. He went above and beyond what he could have done. I wouldn't have knew who he was except I worked with his sister in law. Not one time did he seek any credit for himself.

We have a right to know what's going on! I see nothing wrong with having a scanner and being prepared!

me too. like to know if they are heading my way. I keep a portable scanner with me everywhere I break in....I mean go. It is almost as good as facebook pages where people tell when they are not home or when they are alone
No luck for me

All you people are idiots! You want to talk about how horrible all the cops are but let something happen and they are right there for you! If you think you can do a better job then go apply! The cops here are overworked and underpaid and not appreciated by anyone in this town for what they do! If I was a cop I sure wouldn't act like I care about my job because the citizens that I would be protecting and serving have no respect for anyone! Hell no one in this country does anymore!

The people are upset because the work of the police is not to protect the people as much as it is to protect the establishment. They like hearing police saying that a blackman passed-out in the street on McHaney was a "SPEED BUMP", and call me a liar Bitch! Like when the stupid that let the dope-dog out on Chickasawba St. then stupid dog ran into street and got killed "Officer 59 has been hit". Hear lots of bloopers when you hear the true shat live. Scanner next best thing to being there!(:
