Slowly getting worse.Looks like it will be sold or shut down like Atlas Tube. Ipsco has the mill in Houston that is getting all the sales right now and rhe only reason Blytheville is still open,is to sell it.

You are obviously a very reliable source since the plant is in Baytown, not Houston. Do you have anymore inside scoop for us. Please we are dying to hear it. I hate it when people get on here that don't even work at Ipsco and try to make things sound worse than they already are.

You need to get a life and/or a job and get off of this site trying to start crap. People in this area are stressed out enough without sh@# starters like you trying to make things worse. Stick with things that you know for sure!!!!!!!!!!1

Rumor has it that we got a good size order for I-80. Like more than we have on the yard.

Baytown or Houston. Same reason people call the mills at Armorel and Hickman the Blytheville Steel Mills.

Is I-80 a pipe used in oil or gas? That sounds like good news for a change.

Is whatever I-80 pipe used for some big secret or something over there? I don't think asking if it is used for oil or gas is a big deal. Why are you trying to make it into one? If you don't want to answer the question, don't. But, you can't speak for everyone else on here that replies on topix. The Ipsco worker thought they had a good size order for this pipe. Just sounded like maybe things might pick up a little for Ipsco and I know that would be a welcome relief for everyone.

I-80 is casing used in oil drilling, the tubing that extracts the oil is inside the I-80 to protect the tubing, also if the tubing burst the I-80 will help keep the oil from contaminating the environment, unless the burst blows it also.

Thank you ATV rider. At least someone on here is willing to explain to the Dummys what the pipe is used for.I knew the answer to that and I don`t work at the mill.Look at the stateline and you will see that some of the inventory is being moved. What does that tell you? answer:It`s picking up.

Thanks for the info. Not everyone knows about oil drilling procedures and pipe. It's good they're trying to safeguard our environment. Maybe if Ipsco got an order for that pipe, things might be looking a little better for them and hopefully for all the steel mills over there.
