might be bad, but not as bad as what was there before. remember former mayor and council spent over a million a year for 2 years of IRS money!!!!
sure would have been a lot of checks bouncing if they had actually paid IRS during that time!!!!!!!!!
HOW DO YOU SPEND $100,000 OF IRS MONEY A MONTH FOR ALL THAT TIME AND NOT KNOW IT??????????
don't care about history, this is today and with this many bad decisions Sanders has to go and Please someone tell him to take his finance director thief with him.

This is someone from the present administration. If anything comes up showing wrong doing in this administration, all they have to do is bring up the former administration. They think that they can do anything. If you think that the Mayor is trying to cover up for the finance director how wrong you are. The finance director's issues went back almost 20 years. And...SHE IS BONDED. Why won't the newspaper report that instead of letting her out there on her own.

Gary Phillips on the other hand is being protected by the Mayor. Someone asked about what the big deal was, it is against the law to take gifts from vendors. Beleive me there is much more to this story then we are actually hearing about. The newspaper needs to keep up with this. Reporters ought to be digging and not just reporting what the administration wants reported.

The Blytheville Waterworks should be renamed the Gary Phillips Waterworks.

Why has city not posted one single job when there is a position open? Look at the number of hires Sanders has made since he has been mayor. Anyone know of a single job being advertised in newspaper?

Just a few:
Water Dept manager
Public Works manager
Finance Director
Secretary
Secretary assistants

Most of these hires are miserable failures. We all thought Sanders knew what he was doing with all his police, city council, sheriff experience. Come to find out he's an empty suit. When Sanders compared "his"convicted of stealing finance director to nothing more than a speeder the Council should have started impeachment procedures then. Hopefully the city council will someday take off their blinders and see what is really going on if it's not to late already.

what the heck is going on around here?

January 25th: Waterworks manager Gary Phillips acknowledged that 20 water department employees received $100 gift cards through a donation from vender Henard Utility, which supplies the city with water meters and other parts. The $2,000 gift was apparently originally intended to pay for a Christmas party.

January 29th: Phillips retracted his claim, saying he personally paid for the gift cards and the Christmas party. Phillips produced city records that indicate no city money was used. Phillips' personal Paypal account shows he made two $1,000 withdraws on Dec. 6, and he said he used that money to pay cash for the 20 gift cards. Phillips said he also paid for the two $50 gift cards and the Kindle Fire given away at the Christmas party.
Now back to topic. What about this stuff??????

Phillips second story is he actually paid for these (gifts). If that is true he is definetly being paid WAY to much by the rest of us that got nothing.
It appears he is a liar and a thief.

Anyone else notice the water doesn't seem as good as it use to be. Wonder if they've cut back or started using cheaper chemicals.
