Racism at the new steel mill in Osceola

Read in the paper where the state is requesting the new steel mill gives jobs to manorities before they get state funding. The way I see it, if a person is qualified for the job, they get it. But to say you have to hire a percentage of manorities, reguardless of their qualifications, that is bullshit. Yes I'm white. And I have no rights. Had a job at Nucor. Was told I was hired. Took the test. Passed the drug test and passed. Never heard back. Would not have none this if I didn't have a friend there pulling for me. Was told a black man in another department had a friend needing a job. And they had no black people in the department I was gonna hire into. So, guess what? I didn't get the job. And yes, my friend told me that's why I didn't get the job. The black man threatened to report them. That is messed up. IF a person dosen't get a job because of their color, that's racism. If a person get's job because of the color of their skin, Is that not racism?

If you are white, you ARE a minority in Osceola or Blytheville. Try getting a job with a construction company working to build the mill (if and when), and your chances of working at the mill will be better. Good luck.

I think it is BS that someone does not get a job because of the color of their skin. If minorities need a job goto school. There are more government grants for them then us. White males between the ages of 21 to 65. Facts are facts. If nobody believes me. Do the research.

I agree that racism can go more than one way. I was once denyed a job because of my age, but they told me I was over qualified instead. Neither reason was justifiable

Now that's what I'm talking about. Racism is racism. Why should good hard working people suffer because of their skin color? Jobs should be based on qualifications. We're all equal. If anything else gets brought up, then the company should be penalized. If it 75 percent minority, then they need to fire some monorities. That is how it goes for us.

If this story is true, then you need to contact the ACLU and have them sue on your behalf. Contact Jesse Jackson and have him intervene too.

Hmmm ole' man, that happened to my father way back, decades ago. All he wanted was a reason to motivate & be productive. He didn't need the benefits & it didn't matter what the pay was.... But he was over qualified- So that was racism, I'd think (?)

A white woman doesn't stand a chance competing for a job against a minority or a white man no matter if she's more qualified for the position.

Joe yeah they kinda screwed you over if that's truly the case. Well hopefully they won't block the mill from coming just because its forced to hire a certain number of negros. They get food stamps welfare and housing paid for. How much more do they want.

All this comes from the black Caucasus in NE Arkansas that want Correnti to have a quota in regards to minorities and jobs. When companies have these regulations it forces them to, at times, hire under-qualified employees just to meet such standard; which can bring any company down. A person should not be hired based on color, but simply on what he can bring to the table.

The local Black Caucasus should install that in their followers, which will hopefully result in no need to have such Caucasus due to everyone having a mind set of working for an American Dream, as supposed to entitlement due to color.
