You can't afford your insurance if we had less of a fire department, I hope that your employers evaluate you by public opinion rather than your actual productivity.

You are all complete idiots! It's not the employees fault for the IRS money. They had it taking out of there checks. For fire and police its hard to cut overtime out. If you did then a fireman is putting a fire out and he sees the time. Sorry sir I cant finish my job because we cant have overtime. Sorry that your house is gonna burn. You should have voted yes if you didnt want Blytheville Fire department to end up like this. So for all of you that say no to the tax here is a reality check. If the tax doesn't pass you are looking at your garbage getting picked up 1 every month not every week. A lot of people will lose there job that didn't deserve it and they have there only families to worry about. How about when it doesn't pass and everyone walks out because the IRS came in and wiped there bank account out and can't pay their employees. Sure hope you don't need police or fire then because your going to be up a creek on that one. I understand everyone wants to know why it all happened and that is why the state police is doing an investigation over it do it will come out but it takes time for them to do that. Time is something we don't have. You think by voting no you ate punishing all of the city employees well you will find out everyone that lives in Blytheville whether you work for the city or not. I am going to vote yes because of everything I have said. If you vote no then don't complain when someone breaks in your house and you call the police and they can't come because of everything that has happened or your house catch on fire. I hope you pull your head out of your butt and do the right thing.

The IRS is not going to jepordize the health and safety of the citizens of Blytheville for any amount of money by cutting police and fire services.
It is crazy to think that.
Sure, they may go after all non essential public services and amendities such as the golf course or even the mayors city issued vechicle etc etc etc.
Now the IRS may take the money out of the street fund, which wouldn't hurt us any because the city just squanders that money anyway.

Blytheville citizens need to shut the hell up about crime because they are paying garbagemen, sewer people, golf course people water people and damn near everyone else for everything else more money than they pay for police. Cops and Firemen should be starting at 40 grand a year minimum. Hey courier why just the 2010 why not the 2011 to.
I agree with you on that!

You are so right!! Mosely gives out big checks to his son, brother and cohort Bennie Daniels. It is wrong. Matt and Daniels have cost us more than they make in payroll. Daniels hardly ever "works" for the city. The guys at public works that have a CDL license (required to drive the boom trucks) only make about 22,000 dollars a year. They run those guys to death especially now they are down to 2 boom trucks to cover the city.
Mosley has sucked all the profit from Public Works and the city leaders have allowed it. The guys that pick up your garbage -have you ever watched these people? They hustle to get the job done. Bennie Daniels is in the concrete business. We pay for it...
R. L. Jones gives the water away-We pay for it...
Betts goes into recycling-We pay for it..Harrison and his gang misuse funds and don't pay the taxes- They are all caught up with and guess what-They want us to Pay for it!!!
Sanders and this council , finance dept, Bearden, Overman, Griggs,Hodges, Langston, Carney, all of them knew what was going on and what is going on.. Now that they got to greedy and the IRS is after THEM, they want the people they took from, to TAX themselves to keep them from being audited.
An audit by the IRS will show you just how the people that say they are looking out for you have been taking from you.(R.L. Jones is caught with his fat pants down, and he is one of many that they do not want their names brought out.) They have almost run this place into the ground.
These people are caught up in their own web of Fraud and Deceit. If you want this town to move forward VOTE NO.
Allow the IRS to help rid this city of criminals starting with the top all the way down.
The IRS DOES NOT WANT YOU unless YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH THE THIEVES..
The thieves have run rampant way to long with No Accountablity.
It's time to make them be accountable for all the funds and city supplies and services they have abused all for their own monetary gain.
These people can't cut your services and make you pay more.
We will still have police officers and maybe they will be able to do their jobs better when they don't have some people in their way.
We will still have the fire dept.
We will have what we need.
We do not need these corrupt people. We certainly do not need to be paying the crooks that are robbing us.
They depend on your service fees and taxes just to survive.
If they can't do their jobs honestly- allow the IRS to take them out. These are just thugs that sometimes wear a suit, now it's time for them to wear a jumpsuit with numbers on it.
Again-------
---------- VOTE NO!

Please, do NOT fall for the scare tactics.Vote down the sales tax and then the city will ask are 2 senators to work out a payment plan. Dont replace Haskins fire the Mosley's and that would give the city $300,000 when you factor salary and benefits to help pay back the irs this are postions we can do without for now

The reason there is so much overtime at the police department is because of the low employee numbers. May be a small city but you should see the amount of calls the city gets for service. You need officers to respond to the calls. SO cut the number of cops...And the overtime for the already working officers increases to fill the gap.

The police and firefighters are trained to protect the citizens. They do what the best they can considering the politics going on.
Then you have people on the city payroll that only have a title to so-called oversee the other workers. They do nothing.
Bennie Daniels made $46,375.60 , next to his name it says street repairs. He works directly under Rick Mosley. Most days he clocks in, loads a few of the city green plastic garbage cans. Leaves. Then he works on his own home, or the rental property he has, or he is working on the side job he and Mosley created, doing concrete work on the side, pulling in extra cash money. He does drive his own truck, which he fills up at public works and all the concrete, equipment, and the employee that helps him, George Stringer, are paid thru the city, By Us, on our time clock and they make their paycheck and the money off the side jobs. One of the jobs he is supposed to do is when we have excess rainfall, he is supposed to clear the street drains! If this man works weekends and has overtime he is working to make money for himself( on Us). Mosley has allowed this to go on. Mosley has been giving this man 30 hours overtime on his paycheck when he was not working for us. Daniels is being paid more than the supervisor over the wastewater plant.. Go figure..So if you wonder where the money has gone this man's salary for 2010 was $46,375.60.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of manipulating and abusing public funds and services and supplies that cost the people- and the manipulators have made huge amounts of money at our expense.
Time for it to end.
.
Vote NO to the tax increase on the citizens to cover for all these thieves.
IRS can have them. We don't need them.

By the way for the high dollars costs for some special employees payroll that are on the street dept of public works , it doesn't appear that anyone is taking care of our streets. They are not. They are taking care of themselves and their buddies.
Again
Vote NO - don't listen to the scare tactics.
The IRS wants the people's money that are responsible and that have stolen from our city. We are not responsible and we should not be charged for their crimes with this tax increase.

police and fire need to be combined to eliminate fire chief

goal needs to be to see if city can operate without overspending a million per year each year
