When i took it i had a terrible time. I cant exsplain how it made me feel but is was not good.
I have known a few people who told me it made them have suicidal thoughts. Meds effect everyone different.I think if you work closely with your doctor you will find the right med for you.
No two people react the same to one med!

sounds to me like you might need some other crazy medicine if it's not working

I agree with you 100%. I had the same reaction and same thoughts about it. It worsens my symptoms and made me feel more paranoid, ill at ease and just miserable. My daughter takes it and it has made a world of difference to the good. So, just be sure you follow your doctor's directions and that you report any reaction that you consider adverse, especially if you have an unusual change in blood pressure, attitude or particularly suicidal or homocidal thoughts.

God bless those who really need this help. After many a try at meds on the market, my help came with Paxil CR - I had the same reaction as the Welbutrin with just plain Paxil - but the Paxil CR - controlled release over 24 hours has worked well for a long period of time.

Good luck and God bless you and your family, real good!

Actually, I have taken a variety of those types of meds, but it wasn't until my psychiatrist (which I highly recommend seeing instead of a general practice for these types of meds) gave me a cocktail of trileptal (mood stabilizer) and wellbutrin xl that I started to feel better.

My adult daughter took Wellbutrin to stop smoking, but it made her feel anxious, so she quit taking it. Lexapro has worked for me in a small dosage (although it hasn't helped my spelling, so I'm not sure if I need to put an "e" in dosage).

The point is, you do need to talk with a psychologist and/or psychiatrist to determine which drug is best for you AND if you really need any type of SSRI or similar type of drug. And if the first drug you try doesn't work, try another one. These types of drugs are not "one size fits all." Different ones work for different people.

Much luck to you.

When I was taking it, it made my depression worse. Lexapro has worked very well for me. However, I agree with some of the other posters, everyone is different and meds affect us all differently. What works for some may or may not work for others & vice versa. Good Luck to you, hun & God Bless...

I took it to stop smoking years ago. I did not stop smoking, and on 5th day I seriously could imagine myself getting on top of a building and shooting people. I am not a violent person AT ALL. It scared me,I called doctor and he told me never to take any of it again, and probably should not take any other kind of that type meds. I have looked up the side affects of it but that was not a listed one then.

When i was taking it i walked around with my fists clinched.I felt like i was going insane.
there are 2 kinds of depresion physical and circumstanial. Meds will work if you have a chemical inbalance but they wont bring your wife back or whatever. Think hard before starting any mind altering meds.
