If you have good insurance, you might be able to find a doctor in Blytheville, but most of the doctors appear to have a full load and a waiting list. I tried to find a doctor in Blytheville but couldn't. I ended up having to go to find one in Osceola.

Insurance is the key. If you have a good medical insurance plan, you have a good chance of being accepted as a new patient.

Check out the Healthy Partners Clinic at the Base next to the chapel on Memorial Dr. Open M-F 8-5. Call 532 and six 008 for details. They accept most insurance as well as Medicare & Medicaid. No insurance - no problem either. Everything is on a sliding scale for maximum accessibility.
There is going to be a big Health Fair out there Aug. 13th also.

Go to Jonesboro!!!A world of difference in medical care there. They have everything you'll need and you will probably get "sent" there by your DR anyway. You'll be glad you did.

Which part of the question do you not understand? We all realize that Jonesboro has a lot of good doctors and Memphis has about 4000 or so. The poster was asking for recommendations in a local physician.

Dr Mittal is the best particularly if you appreciate a friendly bedside manner, Dr. Smith and Dr. Dye are good as well. Idk about waiting lists to be perfectly honest. These are the ones that I would personally recommend.

My doctor is Dr. Smith, and I have not had any problems with him. He helped my dad out, when my father was having severe chest pains he was at least smart enough to send my father to Memphis to see a specialist. The specialist checked him out and according to the X-Rays my father needed bypass surgery. He had to have 6 bypasses done and the doctors took him in immediately and performed the surgery. I have not seen Dr. Smith in years because I don't have any pressing medical problems, so I go to him when I need him.
Now you will hear a lot of crap about the doctors in this town because when it comes to psychiatric problems you do not need to see these doctors because they do not deal with mental problems. If a person feels they are going crazy they need to see a counselor and/or psychiatrist.
These people do not need to see a family doctor because when you tell them that you are feeling blue they will give you pills to cure your depression.
Here is a funny tale for everyone out there. When I was using drugs, I went to someone I knew who does a lot of "prescription" drugs. I was trying to get some Xanax and when he didn't have any I asked him if my doctor, Dr. Smith, would give me Xanax. He said, "Hell no! Dr. Smith would give you an anti-depressants than an anxiety drug." I wasn't depressed and I had a lot anxiety problems at the time, felt like I was going to snap and go crazy. He told me someone in Osceola would give me Xanax as long as you told him that you are going crazy, this doctor will prescribe you Xanax. So when I ran out of these anti-anxiety drugs, I started to drink alcohol again to calm my nerves.
Overall, Dr. Smith is good doctor , but if you have mental problems go to a shrink instead.

Why doesn't Smith send you to a shrink instead of playing Psychiatrist himself? Get the picture yet?

It is called a referral. Any good Doc is gonna give you one instead of putting you on a bunch of pills instead of finding out what is really going on.

I have been to Smith. I was taking Wellbutrin (which he prescribed because I didn't want the Prozac script he suggested. A couple of months later and not feeling any better I went back. I need to lose weight and ask him for Phentermine (which I know is probably not the answer) anyways...he said ABSOLUTETLY NOT, he could not prescribe Phentermine because I was taking Wellbutrin and that the combination could cause Seratonin Syndrome - and can be fatal (which is true because I looked this up) However he said he wanted me to supplement the Wellbutrin with something else because I wasn't feeling any better -- he called it something else -- I looked it up when I got home and it is PROZAC. 3 months later I do not feel any better and my blood pressure has been high every time I check it for the past week. again-anways....My friend who also needs to lose weight and was taking Wellbutrin got the following prescriptions very recently:
Wellbutrin
Phentermine (yep -- didn't mention the Seratonin Syndrome at all to her)
Xanax
Pain med
SO, I think I should probably go somewhere else. I am looking at going out of town -- just didn't really want to . Thanks for everyone's input. PRAY that me or my friend doesn't wake up dead.

Dr. Mittal is probably your best choice in Blytheville. Manila, Dr. Wagner, Caruthersville, Dr. Kulpeksa. Other than that, please go somewhere else for you own safety.

I have lived all over the U.S. and I now live here in the south. The best doctor I have ever had is
Dr. John Johnson in Leachville. He will give you a referral if he cannot diagnose your problem. He takes his time to listen to you and cares for his patients like no other Doctor I have ever known. The DHS office referred him to me and said almost everyone in their office goes to him because he is really good.
