Nucor found guilty of hostile work environment

I am personAlly glad action was taken and judgment was properly placed.. I am caucasion ive had two husbands at both of the mills and was apalled for years that in this day and age things were so racial...i dont neccesarily blame the company although overall they are responsible.. The guys who did it should be ashamed and accountable. I hope they were terminated and this made a lasting impact on their good ole redneck boys mentality.. They should be beyond ashamed for such behavior... And we have to wonder why? Our nation is so jacked up? Im amazed people still.. Still have color issues... Arent we all human? Im sorry for the suffering this must have caused these gentleman and the shame it brought to a wonderful company...

Wonder if this will be in the local papers? Anybody want to bet? This is just one of the many lawsuits going on with Nucor here. Wait till some of the good ones come out! Nucor pays for their "goody goody two shoes" public perception. But the Nucor blood is finally oozing out and you will all see what Nucor is really made of!!! SURPRISE!!!!!

This thread is about how bad Nucor treats PEOPLE. If Nucor chooses to be racist, that is a serious problem for them and they are paying for it. Everyone else SHUT THE F*CK up about race.

It isn't NUCOR that is racist, its SOME morons who work at the various plants. Parties responsible are mentioned in the articles. Why is that so hard to figure out? ALL employees ended up paying for the actions of some because the fines do affect profits. With the profit-sharing plan that other Nucor threads have mentioned in place, you would think the offenders would have figured out that this crap can affect their pay checks and not condone it.
As for those in management, "the buck stops here" so clean up your act or get gone.
Compare a hostile work environment to domestic abuse, another "dirty little secret" that society has tried to sweep under the rug. When it does get brought to light, those responsible pay for their actions but like so many other aspects of the justice system, the victims are never fully compensated for their grief.
Animosity can lead to violence. School shootings end up in the news and so do WORK PLACE ones. Where do you think the term "going postal" came from? Look at Fort Hood and what happened in Orlando the next day just last week.
Do right and save yourself and others a lot of unnecessary problems.

I've cancelled my paper and I hope everyone that makes thier living with that company does the same! Blytheville would be NOTHING without Nucor!!!!!!!!!!

I did read it and I think that the paper is reporting ONE SIDE of the issue. Im not stupid,I can read between the lines.My kids would love to work for Nucor, so, if anyone is quitting because of the work environment they'll be glad to take your job!

I second that. If Nucor packs up and leaves, this place will be a ghost town. I for one would be outta here pronto if that happened, and all of my co-workers feel the same. Our jobs are the ONLY thing keeping us here.
