If what the paper says is accurate and he was just attending church service, then he should get his job back. If he was preaching, then that is another story.

If you are scheduled to work most can not skip to go to church.
If a person can take off work when they chose to, then obviously there is no need for the work position they are on.

according to channel 3 news who also has a nice shot of his picture up in front of the chruch as the pastor

"Richardson is also a pastor at New Life Global Ministries in Osceola, AR.

He says on December 16th, he was feeling better and decided to go to church. That’s when he claims a local police officer made a surprise visit".

“Evidently they called the Osceola Police Department and sent an officer into my church, interrupting my service. I guess just to see if I was at church,” Richardson says.

He got BUSTED and FIRED. If they let someone like that back of the police force they should be BUSTED and FIRED

I agree. If you are under a doctors note and getting paid sick leave or just off sick, you are not supposed to show up for work on your second job. However as you say, if he was just attending church and not doing any pastoral duties, then he should keep his job.

There is a big difference between attending church and play police officer. You can show up for church if you are on medication but I sure dont want you around a gun or driving if you are taking any type of medication that can affect your job performance.

If they have some type of light duty like most police departments do then he won't have to drive a car or carry a gun would be just like attending church.

How are you going to get better if you go out in public and expose yourself to the germs of others? When I have had bronchitis I didn't feel like going to church!!

I say Richardson was preaching! He should have stayed at home, to sick to work, to sick to go out anywhere.

if you actually read the article, he said he was feeling better and thought he would attend church. Who are you to say he was preaching? were you there because not one of the articles said he was preaching.

Maybe it was something as simple as being cooped up for several days at home because of bronchitis, was feeling better so he decided to get out of the house just to get out of the house for a couple of hours and attend church. How many people will do the same after being stuck at home for a few days because of sickness, not necessary go to church but to get out of the house just to get out of the house.

I do agree, if he was preaching while off of work from his full time job because of a doctors excuse, he should be fired. But if he just sitting in the congregation watching someone else preach, he should not have been fired.
