Two men have been arraigned in connection with a recent armed robbery and aggravated robbery following arrests made by Blytheville Police Department.

On Saturday, 48-year-old Michael Campbell was arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of a robbery. Campbell was identified by Cherry Tree employees who told BPD that he walked into the store with a handgun and demanded money. Campbell then apparently left the store and drove away in a white Cadillac. Officers found Campbell minutes later Fiddlers Fish Market on West Main Street.
Campbell was arraigned in Blytheville District court on Monday and bond was set at $50,000.

Jimmy Northern, who is currently in custody in connection with the homicide of Thomas Essig, received additional charges from an unrelated aggravated robbery that took place on Nov. 18 of last year.

Northern allegedly approached a man and his wife in a parking lot and demanded money. When the victim refused, Northern shot the man in the shoulder and took the money.

The victim, who had recently been released from the Mississippi County Sheriff's office, later identified Northern, telling BPD he recognized Northern while in custody.

Northern was arraigned in Blytheville District Court on Jan. 22. Judge Langston found probable cause and set an additional Bond of $75,000.

No more Jails are needed..just need to keep the criminals (thugs) in jail for the full time for their crimes, no suspended time for future good behavior. These people have already shown BAD behavior.. turning them loose is a joke and and they are a danger to society.
Teach them a lesson and lock them up for the full time their crime justifies.

We need to bring back the chain gangs. Put these thugs to work cleaning and clearing public properties. No more libraries and tv time. Ya wanna stop crime - make jail time a lot less pleasant for the criminal. Don't start with the human rights cries. These criminals gave up their rights when they violated the rights of others by commiting an unlawful act.
