I have three children and I cannont get welfare, I have tried several times, I guess I could always say that my child is retarded or that they have "ADD" but I cant lower myself to do that like "YALL" do. Trust me I wish I could live off a check and food stamps and everything be happy go lucky. But I have to work to take care of my children. People need to get off there butts and get a JOB and not live off the gov..

Wouldn't it be fair to say that here in Blytheville,AR the majority of the crimes and violence are made by the black race? The majority of welfare recipients(sp) are of the black race here in Blytheville,Ar? I understand that their are alot of white people on welfare, I also understand at this time jobs are scarce, so alot of people in general are using government assistance when they never thought they would have too. Yes alot of whites are on meth and pills, but still here in Blytheville, Ar the majority of of the crimes, violence, drugs, and welfare are blacks. We may live in America and have a responsibility to our country, but we have to start within our own community. And here in Blytheville,AR the majority are making the community worse not better, because of their crimes, violence, drugs, and dependency of government assistance.

Wow uuum nope! I agree that ALL races commit crimes. But there is more black on black crime then white on black crime. Trust me it ould be all over the news if a white person killed a black person!!! Also all those white meth addicts well i see them all the time on division driving into your ghetto to get some more drugs!Yeah that's right the ghetto! You need some more education if you cant see how your own people are talking on here and how their ghetto looks!It's always ok for black people to put down the whites because they are living in poverty. Take accountability for your own actions! Stop blaming the white race for the choices you make. The education is free to your people thanks to my hard working tax dollars. Know how my white child will get to go to college? Money i have saved from the time of their birth. Why because their are no college funds set aside for the White people from the government. So finish off your education then come back and gripe about how hard you really have it.

I am an educated black woman and I am still paying for student loans. My race did not give me a free ride to college. There are minority scholarships out there but if you took the time to do the research you would find that there are more programs/scholarships that cater to the wealthy. Blytheville has a large population of African Americans so therefore we account for a lot of the crime and government assistance. I've worked in Batesville which is predominantly white and all the crime is committed by whites, the "welfare" as you call it, whites, the food stamps etc...whites. So you have to look at the population ratio of the area. There are a lot of lazy, ignorant, uneducated people abusing the government but you can't blame one race. Ignorance comes in all shapes sizes and definitely color as most of you that comment has proven. I love being "BLACK" because God knew that only I could wear this color and carry the load that comes with it. As far as the drugs, please let's not go there. Do your research again, whites started meth, blacks just took it over. All races have issues and people that they are embarassed to claim as their race(like some of your family), but when it's all said and done I love who God chose me to be and I will always uphold my race and try to better them as a people. In the process of trying to better my race I don't have to tear down whites or any other race. Love who you are and stop try to down grade others to make yourself shine. Guess what....it's not working.

I am a caucasian male, age is 68 yrs. I commend you for a very good and honest post. The only thing I would take exception with is the Use of "African American" to describe a black person. All humanity originated in Africa, according to science and DNA, therefore putting us all in that description. The whites, reds, browns and yellows were "freaks of nature" that multiplied and spread out over the world. All our ancestry comes from Africa, so we all fit the description "African American". That's a hard pill to swallow for many whites, but it is an accepted scientific fact. You have a great day.

Have you finished your education? That's the question o the hour? I have one degree, a Bachelor of Science, currently working in my field of study. Can you say the same, if so, then congrats to you...And how do you know that in Blytheville there are more blacks on welfare? Do you work do the department of human services? My source that works there says differently. You are correct when you speak on the fact that the are more black on black crimes than white on black. But what about white on white crimes. You said nothing about that..

The other comments showed that side of the "white" race, you are the intelligent open minded counter part. I good to know that those few don't speak for the whole race (like they think the "bad" blacks do.) I grew up in a small town and my best friend was white in elementary. She spent nights at my house and I spent nights at their house (of 14 white people) slept in the bed with her and her sister and never gave it a second thought. When we made it to Junior High School with kids we didn't grow up with they thought it was strange. I let my new black friends pull me away from the "white trash" who lived in the country. I'm sure her new white friends had a few choice names for me. I said this to say ignorance breeds ignorance. Neither of our parents taught us to make a difference but society saw a problem with our color. As an adult I know I will do as my parents and teach my children to love a person for who they are not what they look like. If they are rude, disrespectful, and a negative impact on your life then stay away from them....color is not a factor.
