I don't like the workers there. They are rude, slow, and the place is dirty! I know it's not a five star establishment but clean it up a little. And I have never heard them talking behind customers backs but I wouldn't doubt it. It's just a bunch of old hens clucking! I dread going there, I would rather go to Lima to shop.... and I do.

Here's the truth. Dollar General pays their workers peanuts, so they can't attract and keep top talent.

On top of that, Dollar General cuts the hours Ada gets and increases the amount of tasks they expect the workers to do. Even though Ada is one of the top sales performers in the district, it still has less than the bare minimum of hours a store should have to be able to operate effectively.

It's no secret that Ada Dollar General has many times where only one person is working and the line is halfway back the store. How are the workers supposed to give good customer service? How are the workers supposed to clean up the store and have shelves stocked when they can't even step away from the register because the hours are so low, and the sales are so high?

The reason why Dollar General in Ada doesn't give 5 star service is because Dollar General treats their employees as "value employees." They're expendable. They're making minimum wage, or a dollar or two more at best, and expected to make a living off that.

Try coming to work every day, be expected to do the job of 3 people, and at the end of the day realize you're not even making enough to pay for the bare essentials. What's worse, you realize that you're working for a company that doesn't care about you. You're nothing more than a necessary expense.

I'm not giving any excuses why some DG workers are rude - or excusing the fact that any store looks like a tornado went through it.

I'm merely saying that at the end of the day, the store is only as good as the people working there. And, when the people working there have been devalued to the point of almost nothing, don't expect much.

I was born in Ada, graduated from Ada and OSU. I currently make a six figure income. I shop at dollar general all the time. No issue with the employees. I get good deals there. In almost three years of shopping there weekly... I remember only one conversation with Jill that I didn't entirely like. Can't you people express yourselves without using foul language every other word?... You would probably be taken more seriously if you would.

Jill has never said a foul word in her life. She is a good Christian woman.

Jill need to be on meds. She is a mean bitter control freak lunatic. If Gossip , drama, and passive aggressively belittling others is Christian then sure whatever let's call her Christian instead of crazy.
