I'd just like to give a hardy FU*K YOU to the Bluff City PD for thier speed trap camera set up near 11E & Poplar Ridge Road. You worthless fu*ks think your so smart setting that camera in a reduced speed zone that is not clearly marked like it should be, well fu*ck you and your fine. I'd rather never set foot in this sh*t hole state again then give you one penny of my money you scamming ass wipes.

I don't mind paying if I am speeding because I decided to disregard the limit, which I haven't done in over 15 years as proven by my clean driving record, but you sh*theads truly have created an entrapment zone. I have a clean record for 15 years driving all over the east coast and the two times I come through here I get a ticket in the same damn spot for the same damn thing 55 in a 45. I know my eyes work, I sure as hell know how to drive, and its funny my ticket is for going 55 which is the limit for almost the entire road except that stretch and it aint clearly marked like it should be that the speed drops, if it was I would have seen the damn signs and slowed down.

I feel sorry for you locals that have to put up with this crap daily.

Once again FU BCPD!!!

Actually no, I didn't know. I made the second trip before the first ticket arrived in the mail, so I when I made the second trip I still had no idea there was an entrapment zone. Like I said I've only driven down that road twice in my life both times within a two week period driving what appeared to be the posted limit.
You locals might know where the "speed zones" are but traffic signs are supposed to be posted in such a way that ANYONE local or not should be able to clearly and easily understand the conditions or changes of the conditions on the road.

Fact is I'm not opposed to camera use, I drive through other areas often that use them and don't get tickets because either the camera use is posted on a sign or there are traffic signs warning of speed changes like there should be.

So save your name calling for someone that deserves it asshat.

the cameras have made it actually hazardous through there. It's turned into a bottle-neck effect since everyone slams on their brakes right before the cameras and then speeds back up when they are past them.

However, the area is well posted. On the north end are two signs that announce the reduced speed -both have orange metal flag placards attached, two others that tell you it's 45mph, and one blue sign that states it's photo enforced.

On the south end it's a little trickier but yet still posted. At the red light it says welcome to Bluff City, 45mph, and photo enforced. But it's at the corner at the Appco where there are always a bunch of other signs stuck in the grass.

If you're an out-of-towner, I can understand the frustration. During the races this past spring, there was a man that held up a sign warning race fans of the cameras on the northbound lane. He made the local news lol.

Face it, folks, the only reason Bluff City annexed that piece of highway was so they could write tickets. they could care less about traffic safety. it's dollars, period. By the way, I have never gotten a ticket there.

And the said part about it, is even with all the added revenue generated by the cameras, the ignorant mayor and his clowns still can not manage Bluff City's buget or anything else!!

What mayor? last I heard, he quit and then wanted his job back and they wouldnt let him sit in his chair. Maybe the Governor needs to think about revoking the city's charter. It has been done in oterh places.

I'm sure Bristol or Johnson City either one would be willing to annex them. But, if JC takes them in, the camera probably stays. Bristol annexes and the camera goes.

I don't think people would would have such a problem with a red light camera at 11E and 19E. But with the camera where it is now it screams speed trap. Of course, if it was a redlight camera and not a speed camera it wouldn't make all the money for the city that they still can't seem to budget. Must be hard to budget all the money coming in when they have to pay a new city attorney when the prior attorney stated in the meeting that he would take a cut, or when they create a city manager position. It really blows my mind that they do some of the things they do.

Just give it time. They are dropping like flies at city hall. First the Mayor, then a few aldermen, now the new city attorney. Wonder who will be next???

Hi, I live in Bluff City. And i work for The City Of Buff City. I think the speed trap is bull shi*. All of the money goes to the pd. There is other things that need to be taken care of besides a new cop car and so on and so on. This city is getting ready to go down the drain and it is going quick. They all need to pull together and work hard on other stuff that needs to be done. There is a sign outside city hall that states "pepole working together to help others". Lmfao i wish that was true.

Guys, come on...if you do the speed limit then there's no reson you'd ever get a ticket. i know someone who works for the city of bluff city and i have it on good athority that you are allowed 6 mph over until it flashes and gives you a ticket. if everyone just did the speed limit, there wouldn't be a problem. okay?

Technically, you are incorrect. If someone else is driving your car and goes over the speed limit, YOU will get a ticket and there is no judicial oversight. If you dont pay, it goes straight to a collection agency.

You have NO right to defend yourself againsst your accuser. Is this justice?

That isn't true. If someone else was driving your car, all you ahve to do is complete a form attesting to that fact and the ticket will be reissued and sent to them. So, you rat out the person that was driving your car or you pay the ticket.

I got a big WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG on that one. A gentleman in Erwin had his car stolen. He has the police report proving he wasnt the driver and he is STILL responsible for the ticket. it has been turned over to a collection agency last I heard

Okay, so you file a response with the credit bureau and forget it. At worst you take a two or three point hit on your credit score for a few months. Who cares?

Let me see if I have your thinking here rock, You are saying that if some municipality just wants to gouge you for a Franklin, they have a right to whether you did anything wrong or not.

You are also saying that a judgement lein by a credit bureau is only worth a couple of points on your report. I got news for you. It will REALLY hurt ytour rating. I work in a financial industry. It's my job to know that stuff.

Face it, The camera is a money scam. The only reason Bluff city annexed that portion of highway was to give their police a place to play with radar guns. Then, the camera company came along and they realized they dont even have to hire cops.

I don't know where you all are getting your info but my buddy who lives down here got a ticket in the same area and blew it off. He just got a letter from the BCPD and it says,
"You have failed to respond in a timely manner to the automated camera notice of violation listed issued to a vehicle in your name. You must appear in court located at 4391 Bluff City Hwy....bla bla

Failure to appear constitutes the seperate offense of contempt of court.

Failure to appear to answer or satisfy this citation will be the same as a conviction and will result in the suspension of your driver's license."

Now, from that how do you figure that it's only a credit score issue if you don't pay. Says plain as day his license will be suspended if he fails to pay and will probably incur more fines for the contemp of court charge if he doesn't show.
