Looking for any items of history on this village and it's families during 1950 thru 1980. I went to school at the elementary school and the undertaker was the bus driver. I have searched many, many hours and can not find info for this era.

Do you know when the Upperville high school was built and when it closed?

Hi,
I had Mrs. Wiltshire for my first grade teacher and Mr. Wiltshire for my bus driver. I lived on St. Bride's Farm. I would love to have a picture of Upperville Elementary.

Hi, Everyone this is Mary Lynn. I am the one who started this thread and given up hope that I would be getting any info on the history. I too went to the elementary school in Upperville and Mrs. Wiltshire was my teacher and her husband drove the bus which was late running in the afternoons if he had a funeral. I have become homesick for my little home town and St. Bride's Farm. The houses that Yvonne and I grew up in have been torn down. Would love to have a meetup if anyone is interested.

I went to Upperville Elementary school. My Dad worked construction. We lived there from 1958-1963. Mr. Wiltshire was also the undertaker in Upperville. My Mom worked for him. She used to (she said) go up to the school & watch me playing on the playground!! Can you tell I was an only child ?? We lived on the Legg farm. My name was Diane Hawkins & I went to Upperville Elem school from 1961-1963. I would love to get in touch with people I haven't heard from since then.

I will write what I accidently wrote on Yvonne Keel Meadows comment(sorry about that). I also went to Upperville Elementary School. I rode Mr. Wiltshires bus, and Mrs. Wiltshire was my 1st grade teacher. Mr. Wiltshire was also the undertaker in Upperville, where my Mom worked for him. She did that so she could be close to me !!! Yes, I was an only child. We lived on the Legg Farm. We lived across the road from the McArty farm. My maiden name was Diane Hawkins. I went to Upperville Elementary school from 1961-1963. I would love to get ahold of people I haven't heard from since then.

Diane, Remember Billie Mullins? I think the two of you use to play together. I am her sister. It is hard getting people from the little hamlet of Upperville to communicate in person for some reason and it seems all my childhood friends no longer exist. The older I get the more I miss my old homeplace and friends.

My name is Virginia K. and I went to Upperville from 1952 to 1954. Mrs. Wiltshire was my teacher also.
We lived in Delaplane in the Jimmy Hatcher house on the hill above town. I think it is owned by the McCarty family now. I remember 2 girls getting on the bus at McBride farm. Names of kids from my class are Janet S., Patsy P., Nancy R., Harry R., Susan R. We were all bluebells in the commencement play. Dr. Warren was our doctor. He lived in Upperville and delivered my sister and me. My memories of the area are very fond. Does anyone think they remember me?
