I know someone who works there and she is very nice...never personally been there, but I hear the staff is nice, also. Sorry about your Grandma. :( I know it's hard to put people you love in homes like that...

My grandmother was there, and she was satisfied there.. she was always clean, and her room was always clean. All nursing homes seem understaffed. but i think they do a good job,...

Probably as good as any other nursibg home. They're all under-staffed and accidents do happen.

I think the Maples is a nice place and they keep it clean there. Could use more nurses aids but they work together to care for the residents, and I like the Maples.

I interviewed for a nursing position there. When I took a tour of the place it did seem really nice and clean. As for the charge of it smelling like urine....that is most all nursing homes.

I was offered the position along with another better position somewhere else. I didn't say anything derogatory about the maples. I said most nursing homes do smell of urine. When nurses and aides have so many residents or patients it is difficult to turn them and clean them as often as they need. Which just means most homes need better staffing. I really didn't find the maples to really have a bad urine smell. I would definitely recommend someone putting a loved one there.

I've not heard a lot of complaints about The Maples. All in all, I think they are better than some of the other local facilities. I hear good things about The Havens, too. However, the place on Airport Road (Loving Hands or Care or something like that) has a pretty bad reputation.
