I am coming to town next week and was wondering where the best places to fish are in the Bluefield/Princeton area. Google maps shows several smaller "lakes". Are any of these any good for largemouth bass? Thanks.

TRy Bluestone lake and dam near Hinton Wv and the new river below that dam....take rt 20 out of Princeton at Athens Rd or you can go towards turnpike and take Athens exit...it is about 30 min or less drive and there is a small lake at Pipestem State park on the way there as well.Bluestone State Park as well has access to the lake for fishing it is on the left just maybe 1/2 mile before you get to the dam.
They are all very beautiful-scenic-really great places as well.

Thanks. I am familiar with Bluestone lake and the Hinton area. I was hoping to stay in the Princeton/Bluefield area though. Is there no good fishing in those little lakes like Doctor Daniel Hale lake, or the lake with the Brush Creek Structure Number Nine Dam, or Horton Lake, places like that? I am going to Google maps. You may not be allowed to fish in these places, don't know. Thanks.

The lake out in falls mills is good. You really need a boat to fish Dan Hale reservoir.

But you'll need a Virginia fishing license for that Fall Mills lake, correct? Or just hope to not get caught...

grass will not start until around june and you pay at the shed on the back side of the dam beside the new playground you will be giving a reciept when you pay so if a board member checks you later for payment all you do is show your reciept.we have stocked from 2.lb to 7.lb trout
