Who else thinks our city christmas lights are a pure embarrassment? Most of them are burned out and you can't even tell there is a snowflake in the middle unless you look close! Don't the city officials have them checked before they hang them?

I've been to many other towns looking at the lights and none of them look as sad as ours!

They are beyond sad, maybe we could borrow some from other towns....Bluefield VA has bought new ones again maybe they would loan our city leaders their old ones.

Why should anyone donate their time to put up those ugly broken christmas lights? And I bet you don't donate your time either so hush it! And no they don't have to put up those sad light's! They could put up some nice one's like all the other towns do!

Actually, the light display looks very good.
Also, this is not sponsored by the city.

Most people must love the lights from the number of cars you see there. They look beautiful and from a city that is no longer thriving it is wonderful that volunteers and the city keep this going. Dont like them? Stay away. Some of us love them especially the children. Its a wonderful project and kudos to those who keep this going.

Yes, I agree. They are lovely and many people enjoy the lights very much. And, if someone doesn't like them then I am happy to tell them to kiss my Southern West Virginia a**.

they aren't referring to the holiday of lights...they're referring to the decorations that get hung up on the light posts etc...

The "newer decorations "on the lampposts in downtown look just GREAT and the wreathes hung on the light posts on bland do as well the shabbier ones are the old battered wreathes out south and on Cumberland.Maybe we should just be thankful we do have something hung for Christmas.

The holiday of lights at the park will be as usual beautiful.

Actually you ding dong, the city lights I'm talking about are sponsored by the city! I'm "not" talking about the city park! I'm talking about the burned out snow flake lights hanging on the CITY light poles!
