Is it true the Alliance Board and The Summit Players are run by The Presbyterian Church?

Oh I understand plenty. Do you even know what is going on?

I know completly, and you know who I am. I don't hide behind user names. This is about a ART org. that Gary started and not about Gary. GBHOA represents over 15 visual artists, is a place for all artist, musicians, poets, photographers and anyone who just enjoys the arts.

If true, that is a bit controversial, don't you think? I hear the minsister is part 2 of the dynamic duo. Is this true too? if so, WOW! As a Christian, I see conflict here. Not something a man of God should be involved in, in my opinion. I can see being part of a service club, but being part of an eviction is something a minister should not be part of. Again, an opinion. I couldn't go to his church because of this!

Hasnt Gary already been around the world and he hasnt made it yet.
Gary made it along time ago and came home to help other artist and his community better it's self. Gary is who he is anywhere in the world and could have created GBHOA anywhere. He did it here TWICE and wanted nothing in return but for GBHOA to be a becon of hope for the city and it's people, but they have to want it and help pay the bills. The ALLIANCE is getting a taste of what GBHOA as been up against since it's conception and is tring to use Gary as a means to regain funding. Is there any other Org. in Bluefield that gets this city noticed like GBHOA.

I WOULD NOT BE ONE BIT SURPRISED at anything like that...a certain city official is a member at a Presbyterian church...DUH makes one wonder-churches are nothing but a CROOKED BUSINESS here.
What do you think "cooked up the under the table flea market location to the wade center-to divert money from fees to that LONG DEAD ENTERPRISE of a church!

K.A., does that excuse the fact he didnt pay his rent for two years? Is that fair?

Jamal that's what you are not getting we did pay rent when we first started. When we informed the building/alliance that we were unable to pay, we told them we could leave if they wish but they said no it's ok we want you to stay. If the rent was a huge issue then why did they not kick us out then? The building is poorly managed and their, the people who run the building, lack of managment makes is way up to the gallery but what goes on down stairs is compleatly different from what is done upstairs. So the issues down stairs shouldn't have to make it's way up stairs but it does. And that's what we are tired of. Actually read what KA wrote it's the truth. If you pretty much have your opinion formed then there is not much him and I can tell you.

Worker, I have reread K.A. and your response over and over. You are starting to sway me. I dont think this would put you in jeopardy but could you name the ALLIANCE board members.

Pres. Ellen Light--1st Pres
VP--none needed PRES all knowing!
Sec. Eleanor Kensinger--1st Pres
Treasurer WD Hasty--1st Pres. Church
That right there is enough to raise an eyebrow, don't you think!

Board:
Jenifer Fox--Ellen's mouthpiece
Ruth Groton--1st Pres Church
Joyce Johnston--1st Pres. Church
Sue Jackson--Summit Players
Tommy Cole--Cole Motors--tries hard but always gets outvoted!
Vicki Harris
Linda Whalen--reperesents city as by laws state
Debbie Sarver

Note: Mayor Whalen does not attend 1st Pres. Alliance by-laws require a city board member on their board. 1st Pres Church ALWAYS votes in a block i hear???????

I see what you are talking about especially if the President is married to a guy whose first name starts with an A. Then again WD is another matter in itself. Thanks for the info. I am now a convert.

I know Gary is the talk du jour on this site but let's talk about the building itself. Why is this building so toxic? To answer my own question it is not ! It is the people who run this building
They run it like they own it , which they do not!
Why do we stand by and let a few people destroy
this treasure of a building? They have mismanaged
and squandered money ,resources, and talented people
for years. Why has this been allowed? to answer my question again. One person has backstabbed,
blindsided, and manipulated everyone to the point
where this building is a toxic dump.It is a
monument to her, her arrogance, and her inability to run the buuilding. Shame, thy name is Ellen Light!

If it is so bad why hasnt the city done anything about this? I heard the Dalliance--good name for doless bunch--has a lease. If they are really that bad Moriarity why hasn't the city attorney found a way to break that lease? I am sure if the building is not clean and the business hours aren't constant and all the money has been mismanaged that those reasons alone would be grounds to get her and her cronies out of there. Come on city board, have some balls about you and save the art community. Break that lease and put them out! Tomorrow is not soon enough!

In the real world, when the CEO loses all the money, what usually happens?

Does this principle not apply to the art world?

That church is full of crooked people. I attended for a long time until I woke up.

If it were to burn down during Sunday services, Bluefield would be a much better place.
