How long does a jury consider ??? 12:30 to 4:20.. take an hour (?) out for jury lunch.. that leaves how many minutes to consider 54 counts?..umm... 1:30 to 4:20= 2 hours and 50 minutes.. 110 minutes.. approximately 2 minutes per charge would be 108 minutes...so.. gosh!!!

lol.. I'm glad your not my judge.. if it took you 5 minutes wouldn't that mean you was just like them that judged him? I just dont see how you could really decide anything that quick and be really fair. I guess I thought a jury was to decide by discussing each charge? guess not.

No really, I quess maybe that the evidence was so overwhelming that they didnt have to deliberate long.I really dont know anything about the case, and I'm sorry for the comments I made.Lots of times the jury knows what verdict they are going to hand down before they even start deliberating, ecspecially if the facts and witnesses brought up during the trial are so overwhelming and accurate.

That was very nice of you. Thank you. I guess it IS sometimes true that they know what verdict they are going to decide before they even start deliberating..Maybe that is what happened. Still, that seems like a scary system to me. I wouldn't be a teacher for anything in the world!! Too easy to have false accusations against you..like these..

My husband was recently convicted of sexual abuse bu a parent.e was FALSELY ACCUSED !!!!!!!!!! tYHE JURY WAS ONLY OUT 10-15 MINUTES.Tyhere was no physical evidence. Nothing but a jealous ex wife running off the mouth. I really think my husband was done DIRTY!! The jurors need to start looking at the facts and not sympatyhizing over an ex wife!!!!

I know of those things happening. IMO a x-hubby or a x-wife shouldn't be let testify, because that is IMO a conflict of interest.. Naturally one is trying to screw the other. Medical evidence and one on one physiological evidence should be what counts.

Jo Ann, I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Sometimes juries do get it wrong. Unfortunately our system isn't flawless.

As for deliberating. I believe that most jurors have made their mind up before the deliberations begin. I know I can listen to a trial and after the evidence has been presented, say yea or nay.

So when you see a short deliberation it usually means that the jurors were unamious in their verdict before entering into deliberations. There was nothing to deliberate.

When jurors are out for a long period it indicates that there is not a majority therefore the jurors start deliberating.

In cases where the jury returns a quick verdict you can be pretty sure that the evidence against the defendant was substantial or the defendants lawyer sucked.

It is very sad when someone is falesly accused and found guilty for something that they did not do. But there are so many who are truely guilty and will swear their innocence as they are being put in their grave. It is so hard to always know what is true and not true.

My husband is a police officer and one thing that I have learned during the course of our relationship from him is that things are not always as they appear. He is a tride and true skeptic and usually never takes things at face value.

As far as how quickly deliberations were finished, you are absolutely right about the jurors having their minds made up before they walked into that room. More often then not evidence is what makes it so easy to have your mind made up. In an event like JoAnns, I dont know exactly what went down but it does make you think that our system needs the checks and balances to be more strictly enforced.

“GOD BLESS YOU ALL!”

If their guilty and the evidence backs it up I can see a short deliberation but if the evidence didnt' support it I wouldn't be able to say they were guilty, a sap story just don't cut it with me, it's a shame that innocent ppl go to prison and my prayers are with you JoAnn Dobbs.

I know of a recent case where a man was falsely accused of sexual conduct against a minor child by custodian and was forced to make a plea bargain for home confinement and 4ever being branded as a sexual preditor 4 life to keep from going to prison. A man that never even so much had a speeding ticket in his life. A man that had a great career and is a God Fearing man. He made a terrible mistake by walking away from a drama free life to be with a gold digging well known evil person. Her tears and songs melted his heart and confused his mind. His life is 4ever changed. He is not guilty of such nonsense. The "wifey" is a skank and only thinks of herself and what he helped her gain. Now that she has all she can get from him, she wants him out of the picture so she can continue being the h0 she has always been and move on to the next unsuspecting fool. Its a crying shame a man cannot prove his innocense against a lying bunch of h0s that train their young daughters to be just like them.

Dont give up on your man. I went through this with a ho who lied and was caught lying on the stand and my man got to some of her friends and they now know her and her son and his pregnant 14 yr old girlfriend lied and fabricated the whole trial. She is going to be arrested soon with the other 2 for purgy. Took 2 yrs but God knows these vindictive jealous trashy women just want kids to live upon the state. I have her ex and we are great in our faith to put her behind bars for fabricating. Dont give up seek council.

No one is forced to take a plea it was do on his own free will apparently there was somthing they had against hem the he thought would hurt him in trial of would not have taken plea. Innocent people don't take plea bargains expecaly in case where it makes them sexual preaditor
