The City of Bluefield Can Not Afford Good Entertainment.
the Second Chance Concert is a joke without good Entertainment.
the city of bluefield had the Statler Brothers to come in here about twenty years ago and the city of bluefield could not afford to pay them what they charged, the statler brothers had to sue the city of bluefield to get their money.

The City of Bluefield does not have a damn thing to do with this concert. It is a fund raiser for Second Chance Learning Center, so why dis on the City.

This post is NUTS: the CITY OF BLUEFIELD has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this concert short of the use of the stadium facilities...this is sponsored as a benefit for the SECOND CHANCE LEARNING CENTER.

The PEOPLE THAT BUY TICKETS and attend PAY for this and proceeds go to the center as sponsor.

IF the Statler Brothers were brought here it was (in all probability)not by the city as such and that appeals to only a VERY -VERY SMALL SEGMENT of the people -very small-and probably would not generate enough to pay expenses.you cannot draw 10,000 to 20,000 people with a gospel type concert.

I went last year was my one and only time going. Me and my husband was sitting in the stands minding our own business trying to enjoy the music when a bunch of drunk idiots came down off the bleachers and one of them with cowboy boots on kicked me in the back so hard that my back was black and blue. Then about 10 minutes after that this drunk nasty chick sits down in front of us pouring the blood and wipes it all over the guy sittin in front of her. So this needs better supervision and a limit on the alcohol. Until that happens I will not give another dollar to this.

I would agree and there definitely needs to be a way to limit alcohol and with the heat it will be worse.
This always happens-at anything- people pay to enjoy and have a great time and there are those( and they are at almost anything public)that create a problem and ruin enjoyment for others.
This happens at benefits like this a LOT(large crowd increases chances) but happens everywhere any event even just eating out. There are just SOME PEOPLE that infringe on others rights to enjoy something anywhere a person goes this can and does happen.

I totally agree with you I KNOW.... Its just a total shame that people cant go with their family and enjoy something like this without people that like to ruin it for everyone else. Just like last year when we went this girl was standing at the bottom of the bleachers and turned around and flashed the entire stands...the lady sitting beside me had 3 kids with her probably 8-12 yrs old. Needless to say she got her things and left. Its a shame it really is.

I wonder if they will give refunds since the show was cancelled? I hate to sound cheap but I paid $240 for tickets and only got to see one big artist.

I heard alot of damage to the stage is why they cANCELLED AND working on rescheduling no info yet. They said they would make sure the concernt went on sometime soon, but you have to keep up with that stub to get back in and I seen half of the people throw theirs away so I dont know how this will work

it had nothing to do with a lot of damage. They heard about the storms in beckly an Eric church refused to go on. They evacuated knowing it was going to be canceled because they didn't want a riot. As soon as the stadium was cleared they told the vendors to start down it was over. Jake Owens is wanting to redo the concert but second chance says they cannot afford it since they had to pay for security the stage an everything else the first time. So they really don't know what to do.

I called ticket master, they said to call back Monday july 2 after 1pm to see about a refund. If you brought your tickets from ticket master I'd call them 800 745 3000 tomorrow.

I REALLY think they need to have a limit on beer. It was no fun having drunk people stumbling their way out of the row falling on people to go get more beer. Also, I think tailgating should not be allowed. People were trashed before the gates even opened. The drunks we way outta conrol. I was also very disapponited with my seats. Paid $160 for what should have been 2nd row tickets instead I was about 15 rows back because of the VIP. Second Chance told me that the VIP was for the prople that put on the concert, well I guess some pretty scummy people were responsibe for the concert. That VIP section needs to go. Never I have been to a venue that has a VIP like that. They had ran out of water! It was like 100 outside and no drinks allowed so they should have known to have plenty of water. As for the storm I know it culd not be helped but they better make it right as far as refunding or bringing Eric Church back. As for next year I'll save my money and go to a REAL concert. Way to go Bluefield!
