My best friend lost her wonderful son due to a high speed police chase over an incidental crime committed by someone that ran since he was intoxicated. The police dept of Independence needs to re-evaluate their reasons to give chase. This beautiful child had not begun his life and now his mother has to live without her child.

In the past three years, I had gotten to know more and more about my nephew, Chris Cooper. Especially within this last year during some impromptu family gatherings he indicated his interest in Architecture as a career direction. My son, being a successful Architect was very encouraging towards Chris's interest and looked forward to connecting him with a good school and eventually job opportunities when those times came. Unfortunately, due to stupidity by two intoxicated morons, that developing dream has vanished. Chris just being the balanced individual that he had turned himself into would have certainly offered his talents to the betterment of man-kind no matter what profession he chose. Saddly, we will never see this happen however, he did leave us with on important step for each individual who knew him. In his passing he has brought together the community that surrounded him and caused them to appreciate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This is not intended to sound corny as these three ideals identified by our forefathers actually hit the mark today. Chris has reminded us by his death that life is to be lived to the fullest. Appreciate what you have. Acknowledge the best in those around you. One could ask for no more. Take the step forward and be the best that you can be. You can learn this fact of life at any age. Why not now!

Blame is to be placed on the criminal that ran from police. You can't let criminals think you won't pursue them If they run. Quit blaming the police!

Innocent people are killed almost daily by police pursuing non-violent offenders. It was especially true in this case as it was allegedly a hit and run incident. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this to have happened. Police are as accountable as anyone ese. Very bad judgement was used here, especially since it was after dark. I'm sick and tired of seeing and hearing about police breaking the very laws they're sworn to uphold. How many more innocent people have to die before something is done?

Chris is my cousin and not seeing him on the farm with Johnny each summer will hurt. The last time i saw him was right before i left for college. He stopped by my house in dallas, and i regret not staying longer to visit with him. He will be missed dearly, but i know that he is in heaven watching over everybody. R.I.P Chris love you man.

This isn't black and white. Blame is to be placed on the criminals and the police

I know that Chris is an angel--he surely was when he was here on earth. He touched so many lives and I have been following this since the day it happened. He was dear friends with a lot of people and I hurt so bad for all of his family and friends. John his Dad is a wonderful man also is his Mom I read the comments she puts down and my heart hurts and I cry and I hope that the guys that did this do pay. They knew that they hit someone and yet kept running. I see every day what the people left behind are going through and it is horrible.

Thank you Vicky for your kind words. Chris is indeed an angel, and we know he is safe and taken care of now. We just wish it was us taking care of him. Believe me, Wilfredo and Wilfrido Pujols WILL pay. They will not be allowed to forget what they did to Chris. To Jameson, you are right, there are more sides to this than people know. Soon it will all come out.
R.W.T.F. Sweet Christopher. We all love and miss you so.

Cheryl thanks to you and your kindness as well. I never got to meet sweet sweet Chris (came very close to meeting him)Chris wanted to stay out in the car and nap. I just know the impact that he made on my daughters life and so many more people. You and John made such a sweet guy and I do hope that you get all the justice that is needed and more. Even though he is not with us he is all around--I cant really tell you a day that he is not talked about and remembered. I just want you to know that he was and still is and always will be LOVED. Because of GREAT PARENTS like you Cheryl and John.

Are you Ashley's Mom? I love your daughter; she has always spoken so well of Chris and expressed her love for him to me. She is a wonderful girl. Thank you for saying what you did about my Chris. I hope you can come to support us during the trial. We would love it if all of Chris's friends could be there to show the judge how many people love and miss him and know that what happened to him was so wrong.
You are right-he IS all around. He visits us often and sends us little signs.
Hug your sweet girl for me, and thank you again.

Hi Cheryl, yes I am Ashley's Mom and thanks for all your kind words of her. It would be a honor to come and be with all of you at the trial and to help support Chris's life that was wrongfully taken from not only him but everyone around. Ashley did and still does think Chris is just amazing and reading all the blogs and things I have to agree. I just got my first myspace and sent you a invite to be my friend on myspace. If there is ever anything I can do to help PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

Yeah along with Stephen, I do not appreciate you posting this about my friend Chris. Saying stuff like that, could potentially get alot of people to wanna fight you. I know this web page is for good memories of Chris, but yours, in not appreciated. If you got some shit to say, don't be a little pussy and say it over the internet. Why don't you bring it to us if you have any problems.
Please respond with some shit to say, maybe your address, and phone number.:-)

You know (Joe) if that is even your name--you have real issues and it is ashame that you go as far as posting your hatefulness on here. I know lots of people Chris hung out with and non of them do drugs!! I dont care what you say that makes you feel better about yourself. As far as your comments about drugs,Chris was did not deserve to be hit. I think what my daughter said could hit home for you its a little thing called karma. It might not be you but maybe someone you love and care very deeply for and they are taken away by someone tragiclly and then someone like you can post hateful and very uncalled for statements about them. I just dont understand people like you.
Cheryl I hope that you can overlook this cause we all know that apparently this person has nothing better to do with their life or time.
