As the parent of an âexceptionalsâ athlete, I just want to sayâ¦.Great story, excellent coverage for our local athletes with special needs. Thank you!
Like almost everyone, athletes with special needs benefit on many levels from participation in sports and sporting activities; improved social skills, general behavior and conduct, improved self esteem, developing a sense of teamwork, benefits of physical exercise along with improved coordination, balance and other athletic skills. In addition to the âExceptionalsâ we are fortunate in the Blue Springs community to have access to a well organized, robust and very active Special Olympics program as well. Offering multiple sports and activities throughout the whole of the school year for special needs athletes.
Seek out information about the Blue Springs Special Olympics program; get involved, as a parent, volunteer, coach, booster or active supporter/partner. Experience the good you can do!!
