Do NOT go to this so-called school. It's a big waste of time, effort, and LOTS OF MONEY!

I started Sanford Brown August 2012 I became interested in Pharmacy Technician until the instructors that I had notice they don't have the proper training or don't know what they are doing in which I had been lied to there I never recievd my pell grant or half of my loan that I had borrowed as well. I'm gonna be starting all over at a community college well I know I gonna get the better support and education I need.

I attended Sanford Brown Business College here in St Louis 1982-1983 for Data Entry. About three and a half months of school the data entry teacher we had was accepted to become a professor at one of the Universities here in St Louis. Then they replaced her with a Nun who had no idea about data entry to the point we had to show her how to start the computer data base so the class could get started keying. After all the schooling was done and over with I went for a State job and had to be tested for the position. Once I open the test and began to read it looked liked Greek, a languge I did NOT know. I said all that just to say that I (we) did not receive top quality teaching because I (we) did not have a qualified teacher. From that time on I would advise other to seek out other school. Can I (we) sue too?

Not much different. All these commericals for similar schools. They show students holding charts and talking to doctors like their job is really important. But really, you don't need to go to school to be a medical assistant or half of these programs. I got hired on as one just from having medical experience already. It's not that great either, no insurance and pay sucks. I went to Midwest Institute for a vet assistant program years ago. NEVER got a job. Only one they kept saying was available with their job search program was one an hour away cleaning cages for 7 dollars an hour part-time. No thanks. These schools should be shut down for giving people a false sense of security and promises of employment. Your little certificate or diplomas mean nothing.

i am sorry to say that after reading 42 pages of posts in this forum. i find that there isnt any lawsuit going on against SB anywhere..... this forum in my opinion is simply has become a plain medium for venting out frustrations and grievances against SB.
SB must be laughing at all of us. they even advertise their school in this forum to add insult to our injury. WE ARE HEADING NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

No there are cases being filed against the school contact Canton and Burger in M.O., another law firm is Hubbard & Ardebili, there is also a firm in Florida Called Feldman, Fox, Morgado. You guys just aren't looking in the right spots. I attended the school in 04-05 for medical billing and coding. What a joke. They said they were accredited and half way through school, I started to research it and found out they were not. Anyways, Hope this post helps.

Got a letter from Cantor and Burger stating that this is simply a case where they "could not succeed in." They did however, say that they were sorry for what happened to me and did not think I was treated fairly. I knew that there was no guarantee of employment after graduating. It is buyer beware and live and learn from mistakes.

I wouldbe interested in knowing if you were required to compete 180 hours in an externship doing actual coding?

I attend Sanford Brown Collinsville campus. I graduated in 2009 from the medical billing and coding program. I agree with all of the horrible reviews. I have had the same experience and would like to be added to the lawsuit. Could someone close to me (collinsville, IL area) email me back and let me know who to contact to take action. I am 19,000 in debt and can not find a job even close to making the money they told me i would which leaves me with unpaid loans. I have three children to support. I recently had to take a $10/hr job not even in the medical field.I am disgusted! [email protected]

This can be a touchy situation with Sanford Brown. They are owned by a very large corporation called Career Education Corp. I believe that something needs to be done to protect consumers from predatory types of corporations such as them. CEC has had a history on wall street showing great success. I guess that can be easy to achieve if you are playing dirty and no doubt, they have been. I don't think that it is a coincidence that they set up their schools in the poorest of neighborhoods. I believe that this business tactic puts them in a good position to go after people in need of a career who should qualify and have easy access to government programs to help foot the bill at the expense of the taxpayer. We are being taken advantage of by CEC in many aspects and I believe that the US attorney generals office should be involved. I was mislead, lied to and scammed and it cost me a ton of money. If you have an attorney who will actually do something for us then put the contact information on here so that we can contact him or her. Thanks Cindy. Wrecked
This is so true! The Sandford Brown campus in Cranston, RI is located in the most digusting part of Cranston where people live off the system and are obviously recieving state aid, this makes sence to me now as to why they're located in such a poverty stricken area.
