support them no matter what the score is. We were fans when they were winning in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 09 so now that the team is winning it no reason to turn on them.
Had a player ask me last year "why don't the fans like us like they did a few years ago".

We need a good stadium announcer like we used to have! He got the fans involved in the game no matter if we were winning or not.

Maybe they can pay someone ridiculous amounts of money to come in and do it, to go along with that ridiculous stadium and field house that was completely unnecessary.

Hey that field house and stadium was not paid for by your property tax. It was paid for by all the out of town people passing through.
If they did not build it the old stadium was going to be condemned. Where would the band play then!!
Remember no football no marching band.
Also the stadium old and new one is the most used place in the county. This includes all the school and special events there. Not counting all the people who use it every day to walk.
If people didn't want it they should have voted NO when it was put before ALL the people in this county.

Support the kids no mattwer what. The ex atheletic director who appointed himself coach and the administration that allowed this to happen need to be fired or at least put on probation. Most rediculas move since they hired a basketball coach who has been at 10 schools in 12 years really? What about someone like Rabun Co. hired Mr. Shaw from Flowerey Branch who is currrent dad of university SC Gamecocks QB. Whats even more rediculas is to have ex NFL player asking to volunteer his time for free to work with the boys but has only been allowed on the field to run the chains... Amazing. Living in the area where we are blessed to live would draw numerous good coaches but just like in the past when they come the locals run them off. How many blowouts will it take before Chambers is fired or are we just going to allow someone who has always wanted to coach a high school team trainwreck the boys high school experience. Does the favored NO-CUT policy apply to coaches too!

I agree w/ some of this, but to say it was built by out of towners passing through is completely WRONG! How about the 1% extra that each resident paid everytime we went purchase something? I am a local & don't grocery shop anywhere else, b/c I refuse to support other counties splost while trying to save a few bucks at Walmart! Local buyers contribute just as much & probably more than "out of towners"!

Really, slamming KIDS who work hard for hours and hours each week. Kids who are involved, motivated, and dedicated. I have nothing but admiration for all of those who go above and beyond the minimum which is expected of them - whether it be soccer, baketball, band, football, track, mock trial, academic team, baseball, softball, drama,whatever... It is pathetic that someone feels that they have to make hurtful remarks about any such kid!

Silver must be a band parent! I'm sure it's not the band members that Bigfoot is referring to but the obnoxious band parents.

You are correct, but again, it did pass with a large margin when voted on.

The long battle between football and band is not a factor as it was before the new band director arrived.
In 2004 the superintendent gave orders to cancel a middle school game because the refs who to call the 5pm game at the middle school was the only ones who could call the high school JV game. So the JV game was moved to 7pm.
When the band found out they could not practice on the game field at 7pm All hell broke out.
They had to move the middle school game to 3:30 so they could get the JV off the field by band practice time.
How do I know this is true? My son was on the middle school team and the coaches were told not to tell the parents why the time was changed. But the coached did tell us.
It's things like this that helped cause the problem.
Cancel a football game for band practice!! That's unbelievable, but very true.

Don't know about Satterfield as coach. It may be to late to get him certified as a lay coach by the state. But as far as the bear players on the field, they are. Many freshman parents were complaining that their kids were better than the older players. Well last Thursday their young players got embarrassed by Unions young one 49 to 6. No they are not ready to
Play on Friday night. You don't put a 14 year old up against a 18 year old young man. You will get them hurt. But some parents think their players are the best just because they were good in Rec or middle school. Remember they were playing kids there own size and age. In most schools you don't play on Friday until your Jr or Sr year.

The craziest thing a team could do would be to play too many freshmen too often on the varsity level. There's a world of difference between a 14 old and a 18, or sometimes 19, year old. Fannin has a core of great athletes, especially at the skill positions. They can salvage their season, but I promise it won't happen by putting a bunch of freshmen on the field. I guess a coach could make the decision that a season is a total loss and start playing young kids and looking toward the future, but history indicates that well more often than not, such coaches don't last long enough to see that future.

This is so true let alone play the same boy's on offense and defense. Then not bring in any of the other Boy's.. There are more boy's on the team than the "5" that never leave the field.. I guess, god forbid if one of them got hurt, then they would have to play some of the other boys. Then they could see what they have practiced for a friday night...Just put them in and let them have a chance..... Really ,, Really .. What could it hurt.. we are already 0-3 .. There way isn't workin so maybe try the boy's that's just waiting and dying to get a chance to get on the field..

Having your best players play both offense and defense is a common thing in high school ball. Typically, there is no conspiracy against the players on the sidelines. The reality for a small to moderate sized team, like Fannin usually is, that draws from a smallish population is that your number of high caliber athletes is usually low. Therefore, you have to play them a lot when you have them. That's just the way it goes in small to medium sized high school ball. And I guarantee you that if a large team has some really dominant players, they won't hesitate to play them on both sides of the ball.

If the team were 3-0, I don't think too many would complain about this these guys playing too much. And having followed the "five" you mentioned for a while now, I promise that you wouldn't want to see Fannin play this Friday without them.

Second half looked a lot better last night when the Rebels used the passing game. That's the best plain for them. And yes Mr Satterfield is on the sidelines now as many people ask about earlier in the week.
Let's hope they use the bye week to perfect this new offense.

Mr. Satterfield is probably the best thing that could have happened to his team. We wouldn't stand a chance without those four boys. They are great athletes and give us what little chance we have to compete on those Friday nights. Those boys are hard working and do their best to be their best. They don't deserve you jealous people talking about them like that. They work hard every single day after school and more times than that to try and please people like you and, more than that, they want to win. They don't deserve that. They are dedicated to the game and are great athletes. I'd hate to see a Friday might without them. FANTASTIC FOUR!!!!!
