If he's so confident in it passing, and if it is so good for the county, then why is he putting it on the ballot so soon? Use a those are not put on the ballot until one year prior to its expiration. He's wanting to go ahead and get it passed so he can finish paying for all those elaborate expenditures that he has dreamed up. I'm sure he don't want property tax going up since he owns so much property. He would rather see the common ordinary people living on fixed incomes, living in apartments, help pay for all of his big ideals. Smart man I guess. He sure don't want to pay extra on his property tax, but he'd rather see everybody else pay extra taxes for their bread and milk.

I heard him say if he couldn't get it to pass this year he would put it on the ballot every year until it passed. Can he just not give it up? If the people don't want it quit forcing taxes on them.

I'm sure you'll see all sorts of things happening this year before the election this fall. The commission will do all sorts of things to make a show so you will support his splost referendum. Read between the lines, study the facts, vote your conscience

I hear people all the time saying, I wished it was like it used to be. But yet we let are commissioner keep building his Fantasy Land that attracts all these people in which is Transforming Our sweet innocent little town into a very highly populated, over regulated, extra taxed town.

I'm really scared if this splost tax does not pass how is this County going to pay for the upkeep of all Lamars pet projects? There is no way a normal tax situation could support maintain and keep up the items that Lamar has built in this County. He has builtl some extraordinary things while he's been in office. Without thinking of the upkeep and maintenance side. All he wants to do is tax tax tax so he can build build build and the people that County pay more tax more tax. This County will have to always have an additional tax to cover all of his projects that this commissioner has built.

Its just taxpayer money, and there's plenty more of it to be found for future use. Those crumbs that Trump stole from the treasury to reward his deplorables could be better used by government to help the children, especially those that Trump separated from their parents at the border.

I am not a big fan of raising my taxes as I am sure you are not either. I would love to know what Trump stole from the treasury??? Have those familyís stuck at the border go mooch some money from their home countries cause i along with otherís are sick of paying for it. I bet they are living and eating better being in a shelter than they ever did from the Third World Country they are from.

Do you mean the same children that were temporarily separated from their lawbreaking parents during processing that also occurred under Obama, but didn't complain about it until Trump did it?

Pelosi and the Democrats want to grant them instant citizenship and hook them up with a buffet of taxpayer-funded goodies so they will vote DEMOCRAT !

They need more money and illegal voters to vote in socialism. Our Sole Commissioner has the same plan here.

And he wants to be adored with a statue at Meeks Park. Another thing to keep polished and kept up!

There are many ways to solve this problem! We would have to vote in someone to sell, replace and get rid of some lands that he has burdened us with. Reduce the taxes that way and sell a lot of the buildings, rent out others until sold, and give the Meeks Park to a clinic or hospital to use for therapy. It can be reduced if the right person gets voted in his spot. Look at the many things that can be solved by selling/renting! That Meeks Park that we upkeep can be sold/rented to Ga College or someone! Now he is expanding the Farmer's Market with roads, etc. Stupid! It is absolutely stupid to have him continue. Paper ballots for his next election too so he can't say he was voted BACK in by popular vote! His people think so too!

Is everyone on board with Lamar continuing with his buying up real estate without an o.k. from the voters and putting an interest only $1 million loan on the taxpayers? It WILL have to be paid back one way or the other with higher property taxes in the future. Either with the old age death of Lamar, new people in office or a sweep of no confidence with him. It doesn't matter with him as he has no intentions of being around when it hits the fan! The pockets have been lined many times over already and everything further is just gravy for him! Vote NO on this!!! People can request an accounting with this and get it turned around.

And he is continuing on his merry way without a thought of what it will do in the future to the taxpayers. He will not be around when all of his signature projects have to be paid. It is very near the breaking point already. The upkeep and maintenance is really hurting! This is NOT a normal relationship for this county and the people are following Lamar like sheep!

Lamar does not pay taxes on his property as it is all in a trust account. He'll never pay extra. And he put it on the ballot so soon because he will continue to put it BACK on the ballot IF it does not pass! He'll continue putting it on the ballot UNTIL it DOES PASS. He has stated this already!

You don't know how he has his properties put together apparently. It is all on record. Stick your head in that ditch that needs pipe repairs! But then again, you might be one of his sheep followers in order to keep your job, eh?

People who are depending on him to stay in office for their large checks in this area. It is o.k.; we know who's office they are in! We understand.
