Bill Pittman of New Prospect Church Wednesday Night was informed of a needy family that consist of a mother and a fatherless child that is is need of help , while standing behind the podium Bill rudely responded to the woman who was informing Bill of the much needed advocacy of the church for the family in need .. Bill's response was not one from our Lord Jesus ...FOR SURE.. he said to the lady that was concerned for that family, " I only knock some many times" then wouldn't let her speak no more ...The lady walks out of the church and leaves..so if someones house is on fire and Bill comes and your asleep Bill will only knock some many times before he leaves.. and rushes home to find scripture to say at your funeral...cause you didn't come to the door..!!!@!!!!

Get real instead of coming on here and trying and trash Bill why didn't you confront him about this, I do know Bill ans have for years and I know how some ppl work, If they don't get their way they want yo trash someones life and I feel sure there is more to this story that you are not saying probably a revenge thing but one thing I do know is you can't please everyone.

What do you want him to do barge in on someone? You ever heard if you cant say anything nice - dont say anything at all? If you were at church then why are you not praying for yourself & everyone in the church house & situation instead of trying to throw stones at someone? Are you that one perfect person in the church that is allowed by Jesus to throw stones?

I wasn't there and so didn't hear what happened. But I know that our church helped many families-and sometimes found after helping them that they had gotten help from other churches also to pay the same bill. I'm not saying that the family they were referring to did this--but churches have had to find out more information before helping. It's sad, but there are so many people who need help and it would not be using the Lord's money wisely to give to someone who was cheating when someone else had needs who was not cheating.

There is a lot of truth in what you say. There are good folks who really need help through no fault of their own and there are the scum who play churches and good church folks to get money and/or food so they can spend theirs on beer, tobacco, and lottery tickets. I found out the hard way that there are people with sad stories that go to one church after the other and freeload when theyu don't really need help. Some years back my wife used to deliver food at Thanksgiving for our church and one lady (?) let it slip that she already had four turkeys from other churches and didn't have room for anymore. At one time a church we were attending gave out bags of food every month. Some of the folks who came to get them were driving cars you and I probably couldn't afford and were obviously playing the church at the expense of the really needy. Most of us would be glad to reach out to help the truly needy as it is our Christian duty but don't enjoy getting taken by the lies of the just plain greedy. Wish I knew how to tell the difference!

The thing is...that helping others is right and just and a good thing to do. But it hurts a lot when we help someone who turns out to have lied and cheated to get the help, and then don't have the means of helping the one who has a very real need due to circumstances that are not of their own making.

Churches have had to try to sort out the ones who truly need from the ones who are playing the system.

I would be ashamed to know that I was the woman who stood in GOD HOUSE.. And JUDGED another..THe church sat quitely as the woman spoke. When she was done speaking she was asked to stay to hear the message. Upon request of being asked to stay she chose to leave. Lord help this woman, and her problems. You may speak this way on this earth. But, what are you going to say in the Fathers face when you have to face him on judgement day. DO NOT JUDGE, YET YE BE JUDGED. I will Pray for this situation.GOD BLESS ALL INVOLVED.

How about we help people because it's the right thing to do and not because we fear that the imaginary jew in the sky will send us to hell.

To the one who called him/herself jesus...fine. You should help that woman as quickly as you can because it is the right thing to do. What is stopping you? Jump right on that.

Isn't it funny how this individual uses the name of the so-called "imaginary Jew in the sky" to make his or her point.

This is true, but obviously if these people are taking advantage of the church then at the very least they need prayer as they are lost, confused, scared, helpless, whatever. It is easy to judge others regardless of which side of the fence they stand, be it the paster, the church, or those considered to stand with their hand out repeatedly asking for more. The appropriate thing to do would be to say we will ask God for guidance for them and will assist as best we can. To many judges in today's world. It is very easy to point fingers when you only see what's on the surface. No one truly knows the trials or the struggles another person may be facing and those who appear to be nothing more than "low lifes" are often dealing with much deeper turmoil than we are aware of. Always remember, "But for the Grace of God, there go I" as you never truly know what situation has brought someone to the depths of despair or even the "bottom of the barrel" and rather than presume to know it would probably be much more Christian to err on the positive side and offer a kind word, prayer, compassion and understanding even if it is decided that monitary assistance is not beneficial.

the churches in this COUNTY have helped this woman and her dope buddies many times at the holidays and numerous others times also. she is a repeat customer for the Fannin County Jail and she thinks there is no Hell because we live on earth and that Earth is Hell. she chose to leave and not stay because of being ashamed. so be it if you lie with dogs you will get flees. You can only help those who will help themselves. if I tell you heaven and hell is real, that it's your choice to live out eternity there, which will you choose. God is a perfect Gentleman and if you choose not to accept him and go to Hell, you will enter into hell as an intruder. Bill Pittman is a wonderful solder for God and, God has found favor in Bill. God Bless You Bill and this church.

This statement is quite troublesome. You complain about churchgoers failing to provide a good example of Jesus, yet your decision to begin this thread suggests that you have not provided a good example of moral uprightness yourself. Rather than attempt to assassinate Mr. Pittman's character on Topics, why don't you contact him personally, let him know you've been offended by this alleged act, and offer him the chance to offer his perspective and reconcile with you? This would be a more Christ-like way to handle this situation.
