I asked the first two questions, Were you born in Fannin County? and Do you drive a truck? just to prime the pump before asking the third question -- the one I was really interested in.

Please, please understand i am not trying to trick you or as the first guy said "smoke you out of your hole". I was genuinely interested in why many of your posts had a decidedly anti-Christian bias, and I do pray for you and think you would make a great Christian. I admire your wit and intellect. So, don't be sore with me for asking.

Haha, I'm sorry, it's just that this sounds like something I would say.
I guess I never asked, what do my views on religion have to do with where I live, what I drive, or who I am? You know, "all joking aside".

I'm curious about something, FCH. Let's say Lanius was obviously a (in the most Christ-like sense) great person and all of his posts here were positive and uplifting, containing no judgment of others, no smart-mouthed comments. Let's say you even had documented proof that he works closely with several great charities, was a good friend to others and would give a stranger the shirt off his back.

Would it still matter to you if he was a Christian or not?

In answer to to CountryGeekGirl's quesiton: Would it still matter to you if he was a Christian?

I think it would. Let's suppose you were on an island where there was no water. People were dieing all around you. You go for a walk and discover a spring of water. You drink of it yourself. You thank God for it. But -- what kind of person would you be if you didn't go back and tell others about it? So, it is with Jesus. That's what I meant when I said I would like to see Lanius LaForte become a Christian.

That's actually a pretty good answer, haha. Not what I was expecting. But...why Lanius in particular? I haven't seen you witnessing to other folks on this board. You've intrigued me. ;)

why are you trying to ride lanius's coat-tail to hell? Just curious if there is a reason as to why you worship at the alter of lanius?

Most you on Topix are the reason I am afraid to go to church. Really. I've put off going to church because of how terrible you hypocrites are.
To think the majority of you on here have children is quite scary. If your children knew you were on here, would you allow them to read what you type? I hope not. You're terrible role models and parents.
I would much rather do my worshiping at home than to risk ending up under the same roof as some of you "Christians".

I can never become a Christian. Ever. I don't believe Jesus ever existed. I would have to receive some kind of brain damage that made me forget everything I've ever read or seen to believe any of it.

Other than that there's really no reason we can't all get along.

Honey,I am somewhat surprised what you have written here. Most of what I have read on this particular forum has been uncharacteristically civil ... at least for TOPIX. Some of the stuff on others that I have looked at -- like that Jake Lee forum -- is disgraceful. I don't even look there. This forum did not start off very nice, but as it has evolved some rather interesting points of view have been expressed.

What i have a problem with is people starting up one of these forums putting a person's name on and naming who he is having and affair with. I don't think that is right, and I don't think it's church people who are doing it. If they are, they need some serious prayer.

...what? My questioning has nothing to do with Lanius and everything to do with being curious about an interesting Christian individual's way of thinking. Lanius is a bright, well-spoken and entertaining individual; however, I don't know him enough to like him, let alone worship him. Also, it's "altar." ;)

I use to be the same way. I felt that there were more hypocrites in the church house than on the streets. Than I started thinking about myself & my eternal home & came to the conclusion that if I felt that the person giving me the word & leading me was a true man of God, then I wasn't going to let the "hypocrites" keep me from heaven. I'm just trying to raise my child to be a law abiding citizen with morales, love for all, & to be the most humble that she can be. Putting a tag on this whole religion thing is crazy anyway. The number one cause of most wars & hatred is a little word called religion. It's just so taboo to me. As long as one has their own personal relationship w/ the man upstairs & knows, deep in their heart, that they're doing the best that they possibly can, then they should let no religion or individual keep them from their dreams & goals.

Lanius,

Your expertise and honesty are respectfully being requested in the Ellijay forum. There are some issues a-brewing over a charter school that a group is trying to open at the old Oakland Academy site. Those of us who enjoy reading your opinion (whether or not we agree) would like for you to weigh in on the subject.

Yours truly,
p.o.

Hope to see you there...

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Leo

Today's Full Moon will affect your love life significantly during the next few months. You might have to say goodbye to someone you care about, or you may realize some difficult truths about your relationship. You may also have to make a tricky decision about a child or a creative project. Although this won't be a very easy time, don't make it worse by over-reacting and turning every hitch into a major drama.
