Anyone know whats going on at Milestones daycare? Several employees just left and there seems to be a lot less kids there than a month or two ago.????

Hi, thank you for your concern about Milestones. To answer your question, the owners started investigating where funds were going, which put additional pressure on Mrs Amy, which she cracked under and took her aggression out on the employees. One girl left because she got married and moved to Texas and two left because they found better jobs, in which they didn't have to put up with Mrs. Amy's attitude and mood swings. The owners were forced to meet with Amy and at that time, she choose to resign. There are still just as many students as were there before, in fact, more so I'm not sure why you feel there are fewer but that's what's going on. A lot of changes are going on thre but they are all positive changes. In fact, today was the first day at work for their third teacher that has a teaching degree. I wouldn't trust the care of my children to any other facility in the county.

I know the newest teacher, she is a very sweet, intelligent young woman, and loves children.

Thanks Milestones Mom, I was aware of some $$ issues but just wanted to make sure nothing else was going on that I wasn't aware of. Can't be to careful with our little ones.

No problem at all. Also, just so you know, they had a surprise state inspection today and passed with flying colors. That's always a comfort for me!:-)

I am wanting to know if milestones has a set price on their child care program. I work a 3rd shift job at the new reid ridge lodge (the old rhamada inn)so i tend to always miss talking to them since i go to sleep as soon as i get home to spend my evening with my son. he is two.

My daughter goes up there and we love it! I know her room is $125 a week, but I'm not sure about the others. I'm sure they have a drop in or part time rate also. It's a little pricey, but they're always good about letting me pay when I can. I have no complaints!

Milestones Mom is none other than Melissa herself. Quit trying to support this dump of a "child care." There has been so many times that money has been raised for this & for that in a classroom & after the money is raised, nothing is never seen of it. This is a big reason why I quit working for milestones. Well that & the pay was horrendous while all at the same time watching the above mention and a couple of her buddies speak so horribly about other workers there, the kids, & even making low jabs at the parents behind their backs. I'm 100% certain tons of others would back me up on all of this. I wish the place would either shut down or the new management would take place.
Thank You

Thanks for your input. Was actually looking for a good child care place.

You must be the one that got fired because you let a child break his arm on the play ground.

that place is a freakn joke, I wouldn't let them take care of my dog...I do know of kids that go there and I have been there to pick them up. The kids are always filthy, their hungry and of course that gross disgusting Melissa is always sitting her fat ass around there. They do have some good staff, but some are just plain lazy and trashy looking. That place needs some improvements bad.

Let me tell you, whatever disgruntle thing you have going on with someone there don't take it out on everyone just to cover up picking on one person. My son goes there and so far they have been wonderful. There's nothing I can think of at moment that I would want to change about them. I would not have my son anywhere else in this town and definitely not at another daycare!!!! Any concerns you have take it up at the daycare, they welcome everyone!!!!

I had my child in Milestones pre-k program for a
Few weeks and was not impressed at all for the amount of money we were paying weekly. I had no complaints on the care of the children. Most of the time, there would be well over 20 4 & 5 year olds in this class and only one teacher. I also found that they watched quite a bit of television. I have since found another pre-k program, with about 15 students in the classroom, & TWO teachers for a lot less tuition...and they only attend three hours a day, three days a week. The progression that my child and another child that left Milestones has made in a very short period of time is outstanding. I definitely feel that Milestones could take some lessons from someone on running their pre-k program more effectively, especially if you're going to be charging $100 a week.

My child is in the daycare class, not the pre-k so I know nothing about that part. My child's teachers is great thus far. Where do you take your kid to pre-kid? When time comes for our child I can weigh out the options and check out all. Day care is one thing but education is another but so far milestones have been good...

See, I didn't have a problem with his teacher at all. It's not that poor girls fault that she has no help. I don't know if she makes her own little curriculum or if they have one set for her but either way, it does need some work. My child goes to BRUMP. Blue Ridge United Methodist Preschool. I definitely did not want to send her to Mineral Bluff because no offense, that place seems more like a free, over crowded daycare to me than a head start. I had a few friends that had sent their kids to Mineral Bluff & they pretty much warned me not to. Everyone kept say 'put her in BRUMP''Put her in BRUMP' but I had my heart set on Milestones for some reason that I have no reason for. LOL Like I said, there's about 15 in her class & they have two teachers. They use the same books & curriculum that today's accredited home schoolers use. Best of all, they have all of this one on one & are learning so fast without being burned out for 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week for over $300 a month cheaper. I highly recommend them. I agree, I'm not messing around when it comes to education.

I will have to check it out, thank you. I think mineral bluff is free but i really want my child where he can learn and have attention as well. nothing over crowded.... I don't know if she does her own curriculum but I know she's certified at least that's what I was told, that's why they charge little more then the daycare. I definitely do not want my kid in front of a TV all day. Not saying they do that. I don't pay that much attention to that class. Thanks for the info...

I think the PreK room is the only DECENT room up there at Milestones. I've had my kid there for 3 years and he just started prek in August, and so far it's the only area of the place I've been happy with!! He used to beg me to let him stay home and now he's excited about it. He's actually learning stuff too.

I guess depending on what one wants for their child. They treat mine really well in the two year old class. They make sure he eats and is changed like clock work. They are sweet getting them down with naps. I appreciate what they do. Like I said before mines not in pre-k yet but I'm pretty happy so far.
