Talked with a high ranking law officer last night about the wreck. There is a lot of info that most people have not heard about. They are going back several days in the 16 year olds life to uncover alot of things. The blood work is not back from the lab yet. If al is true that is being investigated the young man is in very serious trouble. And for the person who gave him the beer you had better find a very good hiding place because they are coming for you.
a high ranking officer in Blue Ridge, GA ???? well I will not even bother expressing my opinion in that case

I am absolutely devastated for this family. As the mother of a 3 1/2 year old, I cannot even fathom what they are going through right now. When I heard about this, I was so angry that I wanted to scream. There is NO EXCUSE for driving under the influence. With all the knowledge we have regarding the dangers of alcohol and driving, I don't understand how it continues to happen. I won't say that I never went to parties as a teenager and I certainly won't say that I didn't drink, because I did. However, I NEVER had the desire to get behind the wheel after doing so because I knew what could happen. That being said, having been raised in Blue Ridge I know this family and, even though what he did was wrong beyond belief, I hurt for this boy, too. If someone feels the need to insult me or call me names for doing so, I'm willing to accept that. It's a hard thing being so angry at someone that you want to physically hurt them but feel sad for them at the same time. Do I think he should be punished? Most certainly. I doubt there's anyone here who thinks he shouldn't be. I am hurting for everyone involved in this. Regardless of what anyone thinks, this young man will be punished not only by the court system but also by himself. It was a terrible choice to make with terrible consequences that will haunt all involved forever. This is such a sad situation all around and no one will win. To the Johnson family and friends of the family-I am so so sorry for what you've been through and will continue to go through. Please know that you'll all be in my prayers and thoughts. To Jake Lee, his family and friends-you will also be in my thoughts and prayers. There is a hard road ahead for all of you and the best that any of us can do right now is stand back and let God take over. It's out of our hands.

No winners financially in this situation.

And accusing any family of "profiting" from a situation like this is just heartless and souless.
Will you still be saying that if in fact they do profit from it? That they are heartless and soulless?

<quoted text>good luck with that one why shouldn't they not get money for the pain and suffering?? My 4 yr old daughter was killed in a car accident along with her father and the man that hit me had nothing for insurance i took him to civil court and only got what the insurance allowed.. I seriously doubt that the 16 yr old has any assets.. And as far as the criminal part a jury doesn't give the family anything not really even justice I am still waiting for justice and it has been 6 1/2 yrs since my accident. And most of the time civil suits don't go to court in front of a jury.. they are settled out of court 9 times outta 10..
But the insurance probably was in daddy and mummy's name and the own a big business so they have plenty of money to get

<quoted text>as rebels79 mom, he was invited by Jake to go to Waffle House that night, if he had said yes, or if he had texted and asked me, I would have given him permission, having no idea of any alcohol having been consumed, and he would have been in that truck, but instead he said my mom is at home waiting for me, and got in the car with his sister and came home, you will never be able to imagine how grateful I am that he made that choice, but because he made that choice he feels like he is at fault because he didn't do more to stop his friend from driving... so at the root of his loyalty to his friend who he loves very much, is also a root of guilt.. so I ask and plead that all of you who have been unnecessarily rude and cruel to my son, and i dont mean the person whose post i am responding to, please consider that this is a 15yr old boy struggling with different emotions and just trying to do the right thing here.
That tells me u have brought ur children up right most kids I no that r even in 6th grade there parents don't no were they r they think because they hv a cellphone they can txt them they r ok I've seen it and it's very sad it's all up to the bringing up of a child u seem like a great family and u hv done a wonderful job w ur kids justice will be served in this life and after God would want all this arguing he is trying to comfort the family and forgive Jake at the same time so he will be punished

Do you think an old clunker car would have saved this family. I think there would have been the same devastation for this family and more for the Lee family. I am sure the Lee boy would have rather that outcome. I am sure he regrets this and will the rest of his life. I hope that every young person that is aware of this it wakes them up to the consequences of poor choices, they can be fatal, and life long.
This is heart breaking. I pray for the both families daily. I could not imagine it from anybodys shoes. Let's hope this wakes up our youth.

I agree It made me so mad that he could even say that like they wanted this to happen so they could profit.. I am a mother who lost a child and a husband in a bad car accident that was someone's fault other than my own.. It is sad that ppl think like that. I am sure they would want their daughter back and their son to not be paralyzed and their daughters to not have to thru what they are going thru.. It has been 6 1/2 yrs for me and I would give my life to see hold touch my daughter one more time.. It really makes me mad when ppl make something about money they deserve alot more compassion than that.. After all they didn't ask for someone to run over and hurt their family!!! So I agree heartless & souless!!!!

Angiebthatsme and rebel79 from what you have said on these posts it appears that the local police will want to talk to you so that you can shed a light on what was going on that night with Jake Lee. Angie, your son is going to be in a real spot between telling the truth and protecting his friend. How will you advise him ?

It's only a HIPAA violation if you got the information as a medical provider. I wouldn't be too worried about releasing a minor's name on here. I'd bet my entire paycheck that his friends were already talking about it on facebook. There's probably even pictures from the party he was at.
This is just heresy but I was told that a girl at the party this 16yr old was at offered to drive him home bc he was drunk & he refused!!
