Went by there Saturday Night and it was full. Alot of families there and the kids seem to be having a great time. Maybe you just dont go at night cause you dont want to see it. You want to be negative about having something for families with younger kids to do around here. Need more stuff for the kids and teens to do around here.

Where are all the naysayers NOW??? GaGirl64 is right.... Not sure where Goeroe is getting his information, but the place has done much better than first projected!! Why don't we all try to be proud of our area & support it all we can?? I'm sure if you call City Hall, they can probably give you #s & details about average skaters.... I have seen the place rented many times for private parties as well! I am glad to see something like this in our area so that locals have somewhere to go besides surrounding counties'. Glad to see tax revenue staying in FC for a change!!

This is a new year....my challenge to each & everyone is to lose the negative attitudes & let's all work together for the improvement for the entire community!! Peace, joy, & love to all!

This reminds me of the bullies back in grade school. They could not create an intelligent argument and would resort to mud-slinging to make themselves feel better. ;)

If you really think better education is important do not degrade those who are less fortunate than yourself. Do you really think they need people to throw their short comings in their face.

Instead volunteer at local schools and offer to help. We the people need to stop sitting around and waiting for our government to save us all. We can fix our own problems if we can learn to work together.

There was a big cypress tree that was planted....(I'm sure I'll be corrected on this...but you can probably search topix for the thread) I'm not even a landscaper, but I knew that a tree that large would never survive downtown in the "concrete jungle"! That's what happened, the tree was planted, but I don't think that it cost the taxpayers anything, I believe it was donated, but it didn't survive. The mayor has been ridiculed for the mess, but I don't know that it was her fault. Again, I just hope that we can all stop the negativity & work together to make this area a better place for all...locals & visitors alike!

Yes the ice rink - city leaders should be more selective in what is allowed - don't think it was a good choice-

Thank you, I do not remember a tree at all. I feel rather silly not having noticed it.

If it was moved at the wrong time of year that alone may have hurt it. Who knows. Either way I bet it would have looked gorgeous.

I am planning on attending the Fire And Ice Chili Cookoff in Blue Ridge next weekend. I will be bringing a large family. We probably wouldn't attend if were not for the advertised Ice Skating. Is it closed or not?

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Aries

As the Sun cruises into chatty Gemini, you are likely to get involved in a spirited discussion in which you can explain your beliefs and values to other people. Not only will this help you to clarify what you think, it will also give others a useful insight into what really matters to you. On a more mundane note, this is a good day to return something faulty to a shop because you'll be able to put your case well.
