My daughter just graduated and my son is a sophomore.. They both have a lot of respect for MR. Danner and MR. Cioffi.. Really sad that anyone would bad mouth the people our children look to with respect.. no matter whats true or not a public forum in which can teach our children disrespect for elders is very very sad.

Do you even know me? Narrow minded? An individual attack like this encompasses your ignorance. No, Mr. Cioffi is not a drinking buddy with my parents. To answer your other question, I will be a Senior this upcoming school year. If you knew who I was and saw my involvement in my high school, you would know that I am not a narrow minded "chillin," and you would take back your words. I also don't know how you translated "friendliness." I took the initiative to defend my principal and my school system. People like you should not criticize and accuse from things you do not know. I stand by my opinion.

ya i bet you are a real looser haha

This is too funny. Jess245 and Spiderman24 write just like each other. Neither write as if they went any further in school than about 7th grade. It is difficult to take this kind of complaining seriously when the complainers don't make sense and write like children.
Kudos to the Principal and his wife. They are good people and doing a good job, so Jess and Spiderman, piss off.
Wow, I didn't know that one of us may be up for a Pulitzer prize based on how we write on Topix. & piss off? Yeah, I don't believe that I have said that since around my middle school years so be careful who you call a "child." Oh look, I put the (.) inside of the qutation marks, I must've went farther than the 7th grade. Let me know when your next English class is, I'm still confused on some things Ms. Concerned. Sorry but this kind of stuff annoys me.
And as a lot of other have already stated, try to handle matters behind closed doors. Especially in a town as small as Blue Ridge.

"old man" you seem very very defensive of the principal. Is this for a specific reason or just serious opinions??...can anyone say red-handed

If you really are a "teacher" and posting vitrol like this may God help the children in your class.

Cioffi Seems like a great guy, keeps the school in line and has brought alot of new things into the school. I couldnt see him out drivin drunk or anything against the law. His personal life is none of our business. I think he's done a pretty good job with the school. My opinion. Everyone has one.

Personally I don't know much about him. I did attend a few of the graduations and didn't like how they were based on how it happened even just a year before he came.

I doubt the claims here have in any way been substantiated but to judge an adult over drinking alcohol which I think may have been the start, for maybe a beer or wine at a dinner or something, thats just freaking ridiculous. The man had outstanding record at his previous high school in Florida and is doing and qualified to do a considerably better job than Wilbanks. Personally I think anyone that came in behind Doug Davenport's shadow to this community would be a failure but give the man a chance and don't judge him because he doesn't live up to your "religious code."

Are you so stupid that you don't realize that high school students are reading this forum? How can you undermine a person in his job that way?
If you have an issue with Erik Cioffi or his wife, I suggest you take it to the superintendent and then the Board of Education.

Do you really think the School Board has the back to take issue with this, and let the people know "They" made a mistake in hiring this man, you are out of your mind.

Honestly knowing Cioffi as a principle he does not do a very good job. Every teacher fears for there job when he's around. All the students never get any breaks. The standards he sets apon the high schoolers is ridiculous. For the first and second year of him being at Fannin 1/2 of the freshman and sophomores failed math because of the high pressure and the standard being at a level higher than they could comprehend. Also the students are forced a seven times a week pass to use the restroom. Seven times is not enough. Yes some students do use the pass to get out of class but some do need thoughs extra days. Also there the four step discipline is asinine if a student is bad here are the steps: 1. A waring 2. Detention 3. ISS 4. See the one of the vice principles for further punishment. Graduation is expected to be lower next year than any other year. Many students dropped out because they couldn't figure out the classes because new chapters were assigned every two days, so they couldn't keep up. Students or teenagers you might say; need time to check there work and make sure they can do the work assigned. There for I hope he gets fired because the students are still trying to get out of the standard debt he put upon them.

The STATE sets the levels a child can pass on NOT the principal... Mr. Cioffi is doing a great job,he gets out at lunch and plays ball with the students, something that sure isnt done anywhere else,he has an open door policy for ALL the students.. IF he has problems at home that is HIS business noy anyone elses.. and if people are just on here speculating without proof of what they are accusing this man of,then they are the ones that should be shamed...Mr.Cioffi has been the best thaing at fannin in a VERY long time... Cioffi and Danner and Ms.Dillard are the reason so many kids are doing so good....

Jess245.. I hope this thread is brought to the attention of the principal and his wife, because frankly, if I were them I would put a slander lawsuit on your butt. This is nothing but pure gossip! Show the proof, you'll need it in court! And as for you starting rumors, shame on you! You probably have a thing for running the mill of the mouth to start things up. You are nothing but a busy body trying to cause problem. In fact, I think I will call the principal on Monday and shed some light on this thread!

sooo ive heard these rumors and done some research as an alarmed fannin county student and so far the facts lead me to believe mr coiffi did in fact have at least one DUI. if he is not responsible enough to drink safetly perhaps he shouldnt be in charge of 900 teenagers.... fannin county or not its unacceptable. sorry. i don't care how low the local morals are... its unacceptable. as a highschool junior at fannin i have gone to him with issues such as bullying or out of line teachers. he doesnt do anything until your angry father is breathing down his neck.
